Tested my M&P22 pistol with two types of CCI Mini-Mags, 40gr solids and 36gr HP. The results are just the opposite of what I expected. Sandbagged off a bench at 25 yards: 36gr HP consistantly averaged 2"+ groups and the 40gr solids averaged 3.5" groups. I tried full 12 round mags of each, four times each. It was really a surprise. You could actually feel a slight amount of greater recoil with the 40gr, which also surprised me.
The Federal Champion short cycled the slide so many times, I quit using it. Too many low powered rounds I guess. Remington Golden cycled fine, but groups were around 6".

I also ran the ammo over a chronograph and The CCI Mini-Mags had a standard deviation of around 33FPS, where the Reminton Golden averaged around 127FPS. That's why the groups opened up.

I've shot both of these in my gun. I didn't really notice any difference in the recoil, but maybe I'm not real sensitive to it.

I did not shoot off a bench with sandbags. Firing from a standing position using a weaver grip both rounds seemed plenty accurate at 25 yards.

I just wish I could find more of either one of these to shoot. CCI .22 Mini-mag ammo dried up here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia weeks ago.:(

I've shot both and the 36gr just seem better over-all. Same for my rifles. The CCI 36 all trickle in here better. Limit of 3. Buy 3 shoot 50. Just keeping my stock well on the + side with the shortages.
