Now that I have a great little gun I need an awesome holster for it. During the warm weather months I wear either a tucked in dress shirt or a tucked in polo shirt with dress pants. No coat. (Development consultant, requires a ton of out door field work). I will have this on 10 to 16 hours on most week days, with 2 two 3 hours in a car too.

I know several people who have crossbreed holsters for either full size guns or one has the mini for his LCP.

What do you think would work better for me, the mini or the super tuck delux?

Crossbreed is a very comfotable holter, I have one. The problem I have with it is it is rather large, and covers alot of real estate. I found that I sweat alot with it, and when I walk, it squeeks, like a sqeeky shoe. It is very comfortable, but holds heat like nothing else. I have switched to the Ramora holsters, and have a Sticky Holster on order for my wifes Bodyguard because I was told they were thinner than the Ramora. I carry an M&P 40c with the Ramora and Kydex reinforced top. This pistol is not small by any means on my small frame, but dissapears at the 5 o'clock position with it. And it feels like it is part of your body after a few minutes of wearing it. I would look into a clipless sticky type of holster if you are going to wear it 16 hours a day, you can cant it at any angle you want, easily remove and replace at will. I carry mine with elastic band sweat pants at times, and it stays put and you can draw it without it coming out with the gun.

From personal experience I suggest you might check out the Old Faithful IWB kits for the M&P series. Inexpensive, tuckable, very comfortable, and made with quality materials.

Quick-Assemble-Kit - Inside the Waistband - Hip - Gun Holster Kit - Old Faithful Holsters

You might consider this, the Shield, fully loaded, has some weight (unlike the LCP, P3AT, BG 380 and other small pocket guns.) In all day carry, spreading that weight out on your belt makes it stable and creates less sag. For that reason I might dismiss a mini style tuckable holster. Besides the Old Faithful and Crossbreed IWB holsters, there are similar tuckable designs like White Hat, Galco, ComTac and more.
I mention the kit from Old Faithful because, for $40 you can try it out... and they will give you your money back if you don't like it. Can't beat that with a stick. Oh, and if you wind up with an M&P Full Size or Compact, the design of the kydex mount allows adjustment for those handguns. There... nuff said. :)

I carry the Shield in a Super-tuck all day everyday....very comfortable. You will not be disappointed in the Super-tuck. The only thing that is more comfortable is an ankle holster.

I thought that the mini-tuck was for smaller guns...like the Bodyguard.

I just placed my order for a MiniTuck for my Shield. I haven't received it yet but I've had a MiniTuck for my Sig P238 and it's been extremely comfortable for me. Also just ordered one for my husband's TCP.

I've been breaking in the mini for my shield for a week now. It feels great. The size seems about perfect. M'lady got the micro for her pm9 and no complaints so far. The crossbreed horsehide does tend to squeak a bit, but there are solutions i.e. baby powder, leather conditioner, felt tabs on the screws.

I use a Whitehat. The kydex pieces are modular, so you only need one "base" holster, and can order the kydex for each pistol (or, if you add a laser, light, etc....). Very comfortable. That said, I also have some great kydex OWB holsters, as well as a N82 tactical pro model on order.

The holster I use most, however, is probably the Remora, because I am a female and often don't wear a belt. It is a great holster (just don't order with the sweatshield for the shield. The edge wraps around the rear sight, and the holster draws out of your pants along with the pistol.

I second the Old Faithful. I have worn tucked a handful of times, and it is concealed well.

I have both the Supertuck for my XD40 and the Minituck for my Shield 40. For the smaller Shield I like the Minituck, but both are excellent holsters.

I have the Supertuck for my Shield and a Minituck for a PM9. Although larger, I do think the Supertuck is more comfortable than the Minituck. For hot, humid climates such as the Gulf coast where I live, I think the horsehide option is a necessity.

Earlier I carried a SIG P239. I bought a Milt Sparks VM2 (horsehide option) and a Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC, before settling on the horsehide Supertuck for the 239. The VM2 is truly a work of art, but I felt the Supertuck is more comfortable for extended wear. At least at that time, the MTAC wasn't available in horsehide, and I personally felt the coverage wasn't as complete, exposing the P239 to sweat more than the Supertuck. I ended using the Supertuck exclusively for carrying the SIG. Since then I've bought another 4 Supertucks in horsehide, so I am a fan.

I do have Remoras for all my CCWs also, and will use these for a quick trip to the grocery store. But for extended wear it's always the Supertucks (or the one Minituck for the PM9).

I heard back from crossbreed this morning and they say that the mini-tuck is good for 32 to 34 inch waste lines and lower... I am a 33. They said that both will work great for the Shield.

I am still torn on which one will be best for me.

I posted on the same threat as David, and I've got the Thumb Break Scabbard and an Old Faithful Stage 3 Kit for my Shield. The only complaint I have with the Old Faithful is I wish their belt clips were deeper like Crossbreed's clips. I had a Crossbreed for my XD-9 subcompact, (Super Tuck) and it was awesome. I like the thumb break scabbard design for OWB and the leather-kydex hybrid setup for IWB carry. Main reason I like the 3-hole scabbards for OWB is the option for weak side cross draw configuration.

I'd say you can't go wrong with a crossbreed. If you want to experiment for low buy-in, you can try Old Faithful. I got my crossbreed kit after the last election, when they had 25% off (thanks obama!).

I ordered the MiniTuck for my 9mm Shield vs. the SuperTuck because of the Shield's size and I'm a 34 waist, we'll see in a few weeks.

I just got my shield. Have a Minituck for my lcp and really like it. Probably going with a super tuck for the shield though. More coverage I think will help spread out the weight and size better. Held the shield up next to the Minituck and it just looks a bit large on it.

I have not used one but I did some research and decided on a (Hiddenhybridholster). It has optional belt loops for outside waist band. Check them out, very good quality for a good price. Good luck
