Wait times for M&P .45 full size
I'm new to the forums so I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I'm wondering what the manufacturing back order wait times are like for full size M&P .45's right now. I ordered one almost a week ago and the dealer said it could be 3 weeks to 3 months, they had no idea. Can anyone help me at all with this, I just want to know what to expect, ballpark.

With the current demand it could indeed take 3 months. As far as I know, S&W doesn't do special orders. So, a dealer will put in a request and that just gets them on the list.
It is likely that other dealers will get some in before yours shows up. I just kept my eyes open and bought the first one I saw. I'm glad I bought it when I did because the prices have gone up considerably at most dealers.

I really don't mind waiting if that is what it takes, I just want to know what kind of time I am looking for, I think that is fair considering I'm shelling out $600.00+ for the pistol. I already put some down at this dealer so I am somewhat committed, unless I chose to lose that and go somewhere else.

Check around. One of my local shops had a few last week that I didn't recall seeing there earlier, so I think some stores are having them trickle in.
And as one on my local chain store associates said, try to be there shortly after their delivery trucks arrive, if they'll tell you the days, as they weren't taking pre-orders, and didn't know what they were going to receive in a given shipment.
At least I've been seeing M&P45 magazines on some shelves.

I have tried asking about deliveries, but most places in this area consider that secret squirrel type information for some reason, they will not give up any info, even if I am trying to give them hundreds or thousands of dollars in business relating to that info. Kind of lame if you ask me!

Ahh! But this is why it's good to cultivate a friendly relationship with the sales associates. If they aren't awfully busy or have other customers waiting, chatting can not only help you out, but them as well. This is especially important if they're also working partly on a commission basis. (Speaking as one who's been on both sides of the counter. )

You should have done a road trip first,in a 50-100 mile radius of every LGS in your area. Mom&Pop shops can surprise you with prices and stock on hand, not to mention ammo

I think all of the long waiting periods for firearms and guns will end in November of 2016.

They will end before that. The question that remains is, will the voters get out and ensure that this doesn't happen again?

I can't wait for that day, just to know that he is not eligible to be re-elected makes me feel so warm and tingly inside.
