Holster opinions...
i have the Shield in 9mm. Its becoming my favorite gun to carry but need a THIN IWB leather holster. I have been carrying my shield in a kydex IWB at 4 o'clock but i just hate the feel of kydex. But the leather holsters i try are just too thick and can add up to 3/8" inch or more.
Any suggestions on a IWB Leather holster for 4pm carry? ? or a kydex model with some backing material that makes it more comfortable against the skin?
also, trying to find a single click holster. i am aware of the crossbreed types but just want a simple minimalist holster. One click is enough for me.

I have a Kusiak Leather holster for my Shield 9. I think it would satisfy your desire for a thin holster. I've got the IWB tuckable version and only wish it had the spare mag holder. I like this holster a lot, especially how thin it is.

Five Shot Leather has an AIWB that I've read was designed with comfort in mind. I haven't tried it, as it is fairly expensive, but reviews I've read are favorable. I'm like you that Kydex is not that comfortable in IWB configuration, but I've tried a couple of affordably priced leather holsters for AIWB that are hard to live with. I have a SuperTuck for strong side 3-4 o'clock carry, but the leather paddle is a little large at times. My personal favorate is a Milt Sparks Summer Special II for a full sized M&P that is very easy for me to wear. It has some leather bulk, but the bulk is countered by it's innovative, timeless design so it doesn't print as much as one would think. I've seen them effectively conceal a Glock 22, they work great for my full sized M&Ps, so they should in theory work well with a Shield.

IWB Holster
Hunter
I purchased the Blackhawk 05 IWB holster for my new Shield. Great holster, soft, made from a brushed nylon comfortable. You can wear against bare skin no problem. $20+ at Gander Mountain.

I am happy with my hybrid holster from firearmholster.com. Ordered one for my XDm 3.8 compact a couple of months ago, and ordered another one yesterday for my Shield. It's about a 4 week wait now tho, but it's worth it. Nice leather with a thin felt backing on the inside. Combat cut, customized leather and stitching colors, convertible to OWB. $49 shipped http://www.firearmholster.com/

Like you I have been looking. I have a kusiak for my 380 and like it. I have been considering it for the shield but also have my eye on one from wright leather, Tennessee holster and just found one by stoner holster, no.415. I like clip holsters but not being able to handle these is a drawback.

I carry my shield in the appendix position and really like the desantis sof tuk. I can wear it all day and never got annoyed. What I like most is that I dont need a belt with it. I can put it in my basketball shorts when working out, jogging, or going for walks with my daughter. Soon enough I will even have that freedom without being on vacation.

I just got a Pro Carry HD from the Holster Store for Xmas. So far I really like it. Its molded specifically for the shield, seems really well built and is affordable. I have been using a hidden hybrid holster, which I like, but like you, I wanted something all leather with a single clip. I got it with the cant option as well as a slide guard and it works well for me at about 330 or 400 and is more comfy than the hybrid I was using. I like it more than I thought I would so far, but I can't carry at work so I need a little more time with it.

I should add they have a thinner version for less money, but its not specifically made for the shield and collapses once the pistol is drawn. The HD version I have will allow for one handed reholstering.

Ray is a forum member here and was a cop for a zillion years, give or take a few. He knows about holsters.
He has a business called Lobo Gun Leather and has a website by the same name.
I make hybrid holsters and kydex holsters, and I thought I had the comfort thing nailed until I bought a beautiful holster from Ray for a gun I didn't want getting beat up by kydex.
I prefer IWB and the Lobo 'belt-loop IWB' is my favorite so far. I get mine in horse hide which is thin and sweat resistant.
Lobo Gun Leather - IWB belt-loop style, for revolvers and autos
Right now I carry my M&P45c very comfortably all day long. I'll post some pics and check out how thin horse hide is even though it is super strong!
The slide shield on this holster is at an angle making it look thick - it's not, you can see how thin horse is by looking at the outer part of the holster:
Here's a Lobo for my Shield:
And here's a 45, comfortable all day long:
The last holster Ray did for me took only 3 weeks from payment to on my hip. And prices are very reasonable for the joy these holsters bring....

I have one of these two. Very thin and easy to conceal. My only complaint is that my Shield rides a bit too low in the waistband, so I don't get the grip I would like.

Cover the part of the holster in moleskin that makes contact with your body. You can order it here.

So many choices here. So many good holsters on the market. I'll throw my vote in for the FoxX line. I have the FoxX Trapp for my Shield 9. Totally love it: great product, good price, and stellar customer service. My brother has the Little FoxX and really likes it for him. Both of us (As many others say about there holster preference) say that we forget that the gun is there b/c it is so comfortable wearing IWB. Good luck! Here is a link to the FoxX Trapp: "FoxX Trapp" All Kydex IWB Holster
