What holsters have you seen for the M&P22 Compact?
I use my Walther M&P22 for defensive pistol practice and plinking and I'm thinking of adding the compact version to my stable. What holsters, especially OWB strong side models have you seen, either in person or in ads? I've been told the Shield will work, but it's barrel is shorter and I would like a holster made just for the M&P22 Compact.

Holster for M&P .22 Compact
I'm using the Uncle Mikes kydex holster I bought for the Glock .45 GAP. I tried a Blackhawk CQC for a Glock 19 and it "works" but is a little loose. I saw in a magazine (I can't remember which one) that Blackhawk is now making one for the S&W shield that SHOULD work. Good luck and I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!

I'm also very interested in this. I bought the M&P 22 Compact for defensive shooting practice, so I need to have a holster for it.

Desantis has a couple IWB holsters for it and Triple K makes a leather OWB thumb break holster.

Reviving this thread to see if anyone has found any good holster solutions for the M&P22 Compact. I'm especially interested in molded or kydex OWB. Thanks. JF

My M&P 22 Compact is a perfect fit in the Bianchi UM84/92 Compact Universal Military Holster.
Its a version of the standard Army gear, but sized for small guns.
Ambidextrous, can be used with or without the flap.

Seems appropriate for a MILITARY & POLICE pistol.
Note added: Slide is out of battery as there's a chamber flag in place.

Does the M&P22c not fit the same holsters as the M&P9/40c?

Thanks Taroman. Xader-I don't think the M&P22c would fit a molded holster made for the M&P9c. It will probably take a couple of months for holster makers to catch up since this is a new pistol model. Meanwhile a universal nylon holster will do the trick. Thanks. JF

When I ordered a Cooks holster the other day, I asked the owner Bob Cook if he made one for the .22 compact and he said yes they do. It does not show on their website but he told me they can make one. The holsters are kydex and nice quality. Cook's Holsters

Desantis makes a Mini Scabbard for this gun. It's not cheap, but quality never is...

S&W M&P Compact .22: Holster
I just purchased the M&P Compact .22 a couple of weeks ago, a real nice shooter. I purchased the DeSantis mini scabbard holster in black. It has a tension adjustment screw, has a safe, strong fit. Holster rides tight to the body, comfortable in the 3,4,5 o'clock position. I bought it as a plinker for a walk through the woods, not for CCW. Very pleased with the holster. I ordered directly from DeSantis on a Wednesday afternoon, it arrived Friday morning, can't beat that service!

Just an FYI, The Black Hawk Serpa for the Glock 23 fits perfectly with the retention features still intact.

Holster fits for M&P 22 compact
I own two shields and the holsters for these fit the 22 compact, but the slides are shorter on the shields so the compact's slide does stick out a little but they work in a pinch. Yesterday I went to my local gun store and tried several holsters and found a tagua leather belt slide holster made for the springfield XDS that fit very well. Was so impressed with it that I bought it for my 22 compact.

you need to look into Gold Star Holsters. They make custom holsters and do an amazing job and they will make a holster specifically for your gun and they have good prices too. I have both IWB and OWB and have had them for years and love them. and they come with a lifetime guarantee. Goldstar Holsters | Custom Handmade Holsters

By the way, I call the Tagua belt slide my goldilocks holster. It doesn't fit too tight, it doesn't fit too loose, it fits juuusst right.

I know this is an older thread, but just in case someone is reading it still looking for a holster, here's mine. Its a Fobus GL-2 ND. The fit and retention are just perfect for my 22 compact.

.22 compact
Is anyone else considering using the m&p .22 compact as a carry weapon? I have the utmost confidence in it and my ability for
accurate shot placement

I have a Black Hawk serpa holster for my M&P full size, my M&P compact also fits it, but the M&P22 compact is just slightly too loose in it & the retention isn't really acceptable

I too have a Cook's Holster. I never thought that I could carry a Full Size M&P but their "Comfort Series OWB" has changed my mind. I carry it year round and have given my Shield to my daughter. If anyone is considering ordering from them be sure to order one with the "wings" vs clips for attachment. I ordered both and do not use the clips.

I am not being confrontational here but how the HE _ _ are you making this holster work ? I bought 2 of them for my 2 Compacts on recommendation of this thread. They didn't come close to working.
At first try I could hardly get the pistol to go into the holster. I then loosened the adjustment screw and that did not help. Next I spread the holster out and forced several pieces of cardboard between the front and back sections and heated the plastic with a hair dryer. That opened up the top of the holster and let the trigger guard slide in without being in too tight. I then forced the pistol down a little further. Hoping putting in an out a few times would help. I repeated the insertion and removal several times. It did seem to loosen just a hair.
Then it happened. I pushed the gun into the holster until the muzzle cleared the end and the trigger guard snapped into position. MISTAKE. The front sight cleared the end of the hoster and the bottom of the holster snapped in behind and below the top of the front sight. No way to pull the gun back. It was STUCK. Could not get the holster to give enough to work the front sight back under the holster to slide it out. So now I had a permanently holstered gun. So what to do?
Don't want to pry the holster up and mar the gun finish. Consider dremel cutting but that is too risky ... absolutely no margin for error when doing that. After considering a couple of other totally useless plans I settled on the old fashioned way. A couple of real sharp knives and about an hour of tedious nerve wracking plastic whittling. I slowly sliced and cut an area around the sides of the front sight and got the holster cut away about a half inch behind the sight. I got the plastic cleared far enough behind where I could cut a bevel directly behind the front sight to let it slide back under the holster. After I got this done I squeezed the holster together on the sides as hard as I could and pulled and pulled until I worked the sight under the plastic and the pistol cleared itself out of the holster.
To my amazement I had not scratched the gun finish anywhere. Could not see where the sight was any the worse for wear.
So now I have 2 holsters that are useless to me. One brand new and one brand new with a little redesign. I will return one and see if I can find a use for the redesigned one.
But my observation and experience is the GL 2 ND •• DOES NOT WORK •• with the M&P .22LR Compact. Just trying to let everyone know what happened with my Fobus purchase.

You may want to contact "evnash" on the forum's messages. He has made 3 for me and they are expecptional. Great timely service and at what I consider a fair price.
I like them so well he is in the process of making 7 more holsters for me for for four different gun.
I have been remiss in getting a review of these holsters posted. Will get that done in the next couple of days.

I guess it depends on the holster. I have a Blackhawk SERPA & it is a little bit too loose, it doesn't secure then handgun well. Some other style of holster would probably fit much better, something in leather or cloth/foam

Alien gear has another gun shell that was a near perfect fit for my 22c but I sold it to a friend and forget what it was.

I think with the belt bracket rather than the paddle it would look great. Keep posting up pics of what you found to work.

I have the DeSantis Pro Stealth. Listed applications includes the M&P Compact 22. Does the job and didn't cost a whole lot.
They also have a pretty good selection of OWB for the 22.

I got one yesterday, and it was a waste of my money. There is no way the gun is fitting. I jammed it in there once, and could barely get it out. Not sure how his fits?

Since this thread seems to have new life i can offer another choice for the compact 22. It is the Defiant Tactical kydex Holster. I bought an IWB RH model for $29.97 including shipping on eBay buy it now. It has a safety guard and adjustable retention. Works great. I wanted an OWB Holster to use on my backpacking trips (snake country). I decided to try a round about solution. I bought a LH IWB of the same model. I can wear it on my right side OWB. It too works great. You do need a good belt to keep it from shifting.
