Magazine Holder for Shield?
I am currently carrying a .40 Cal Shield in a DeSantis IWB holster and am very happy with the setup.
What I have yet to find is a suitable magazine (pouch) for the Shield magazines (either single or double). The "semi-stacked" arrangement of the Shield magazine seems to be the problem. Magazines will not fit into a single stack carrier (.45 ACP, 9MM H&K P7, etc) and are too narrow for the double stack carriers.
If anyone has found a suitable carrier for the Shield magazines, I would welcome comments.
Thanks

Comp-Tac claims they make Kydex mag carriers fitted for many different specific gun mags. I've not tried their stuff. Personally, I'm gonna make my own.

This guy makes all custom made stuff, not a one size fits many. Mag pouch will be made to your specific magazine. I had him make a pouch for my 9mm shield and it is custom fit.

The suggestion to check Comp-Tac (.com) is a good one. I've been more than satisfied with several of their products. Pricey but outstanding. Also very fast shipping. The web site will tell you
on the product. Usually five business days on any holster and made specific for what ever you choose.

I use a SnagMag. Works great, keeps the mag up out of the bottom of your pocket and in proper orientation for a reload.. The clip makes it look like you have a knife in your pocket.

If your realy want to be discrete you could use a buck 110 leather sheath or a leatherman wave sheath. Both fit the mags perfectly.

I use a nylon Leatherman case. Fits the Shield mag great and is very incognito.

I've been using generic nylon pouches, too. Mostly find them labeled as knife pouches. 6-7 bucks. Most have a flap over the top. Some, I keep the flap. Some, I cut the flap off, and melt the edges neat. Most have a belt loop. They work vertical, or nearly horizontal. I've adapted a couple for MOLLE use. They work OK. Cheap.

Ian from Overwatch Holsters (he's a forum member as well) has them in different colors of kydex that are made to fit the Shield mags. I ordered my holster from him. Here's a link to his mags.
I like the mag holsters from OverWatch more, but I got mine from Tactical Kydex. His are made to order just for the Shield and to your specifications. You can choose from different kydex colors and have it made to have bullets facing forward or to the rear. You can also have them made for IWB or OWB with J-hooks, C-hooks, belt loop, or regular snap clip. The retention is adjustable.
He sells 2 singles for $20 shipped, but I'm not sure how much he charges for a dbl mag holder. I might be $20-$25 shipped. You can mix and match the 2 holsters. I purchased an IWB and one OWB...
Here are some facebook photos of his mag holsters.

I use the Blackhawk double mag pouch. It has a screw to adjust for tightness. In fact I bought another one just for my truck counsel. These are leather!

What Ray said. Save your money and get a SnagMag. I've got one each for my Shield and 9c. They're the only way to fly.

I got tired of looking and finally had one custom made by Meco Pocket Holsters. I wanted one that fully enclosed the mag end to keep out lint for pocket carry. The Snag Mags don't cover much of the mag. It was $27 shipped and took only a few days to make. Here is a stock photo. I'll post the actual one for my Shield later.

I have both a single and double in leather from Alessi, and singles from Comptac and Fricke in kydex. All work just fine.

Get a leather 1911 magazine holder. They will stretch slightly and work very well for the Shield magazines. I tried some of my 1911 leather pouches that are broken in for 1911 mags and they worked well. Tight, but smooth drawing from the mag pouch.

+1 for Overwatch. Reasonably priced and well-designed and finished. I have his IWB for the Shield as well and I'm happy with both.

I use comp-tac mag holders regardless of the holsters maker. The comp-tac are easy on and off and are of excellent quality. I also have one for my shield. I believe they are about 26 or 28 dollars for a single. Some LGS now carry comp-tac products.
Wore one today for a 9c with my Milt Sparks OWB.

Just picked up a Uncle Mikes nylon type of holder. Fits great for the Shield Mag. Also noted a twin version. Picked it up at my local Fleet Farm.

I didn't want to create a new thread as it relates to this but does anyone know of a comfortable mag & cuff holder for the Shield 9mm? I'm looking for something in leather. I thoroughly enjoy my DeSantis Intruder IWB and Safariland ALS "concealment" OWB holsters. I'm flying out to Hawaii and would like to get something to get the cuffs and mag out of my cargo pockets.

X2 on the SnagMag. I have one for my Shield (single stack) and one for my .40 and they work well. I carry the Shield most days at the office and in dress clothes nobody has ever questioned what the clip is on my pants. I assume they think it's a knife.

Thanks for the Overwatch Holster love guys!
I haven't actually tried a double IWB but I would be willing to for someone.
I might just try one anyway.
