I've seen threads on "internet" matches. Informal competitions. Basically just posting pictures of targets that folks can brag about. Would any of you Shield owners be interested in starting up an internet match? Just wondering how many would like to do something like this.

(edit) 2/16 A competition thread has been started at:

Yeah man for sure!! I post a bunch of range videos on my YouTube page from the range.

There's a target at Walmart called battleship. Great game and helps with trigger pull. If u want we can do a competition of that game at say 10 yards and whoever can beat the game (just one side) in the least amount of rounds wins...?

I'm game and then post the video on YouTube and we can compete. I think I might have one up there already. I'll check and post below the link to watch the video here shortly and you can let me know if you are willing to give it a go... Could be fun...!

Hmmm... That's not exactly what I had in mind, but it sounds kinda interesting, anyway. I'll see if I can find that battleship target at Walmart. I'm not sure, though, how to go about making a video, at the range. Maybe I'll get an idea when I can take a look at one of your vids.
Meanwhile, would you have any interest in a competition using more traditional targets and just plain ol' still pictures? Thanks.

This is intriguing to me. Not sure I'd be much competition for folks yet, but definitely interested in this for the future. Subscribing....

We'll have to see what most folks can do. It's not really important. We'll just have to pick a distance and go with it. If folks can't match it, exactly, no big deal. Keepin' it casual. At my range, I can shoot 10 yards, and 20 yards. I could go over to the rifle side and shoot 25 yards, or farther.

Subscribed - match distance?
My personal opinion: since the Shield is designed to be a self defense pistol/BUG and not a duty weapon, we should consider distances of 15 yards or less.

Also, we could do timed drills for folks who have access to a shot timer (I don't yet, but working on it).

I think the key will be to use a commonly accessible target as the OP suggested. Maybe a printable PDF target from the Web?

Anything that uses a printable PDF target and slow fire and I'm in. (Don't own a timer) I'd say 10 to 15 yards is a fair measure of accuracy with a Shield. Maybe best total 10 shots on a 10 yd and 10 shots on a 15 yd?

I'm in.

Walmart battleship at 10 yards is a good time.

Walmart battleship at 10 yards is a good time.

Maybe, but an online match for owners of a specific gun who now have to go buy something is never going to get anywhere. Needs a printable standard target.

Very true. I'm up for anything really. It was just an idea. It is a good game though if anyone wants to see it. Great for trigger control.

Here is some low quality footage of battleship

Yep, anything done here is on the honor system anyway. Everyone uses the same target and takes the same shots. I suggest a stipulation that it be done from an unsupported, standing position.

I further suggest that the distance be 7 yards. The Shield is a defensive gun. Why not use a defensive distance?

I like the idea of all participants shooting the same target. We'll still have to work out a distance. I, for one, cannot shoot at 7 yards. At least, not for the near future. I can shoot 10 yards.

It's up to the OP, but if you can't match the distance, etc, just note on your target what you did do, range, number of shots, etc. I mean, this is for fun, right? I'd like to see how it goes.

10 Yards is good with me. It may be a defensive gun, but if you can shoot it at 10 or 15, you'll be all the better at 7 or 3. I agree it's up to the OP to pick the distance, target, and course of fire. My Shield is ready.
