Anybody use hornaday's zombie max ammo?

I picked up a 25 round box of the 9mm ammo last night after reading it was essentially critical defense with green tips and brass casing. It was on sale and $5 less than a box of CD.
Now I read all of this stuff online that you shouldn't use it in your carry weapon because of legal liability as there website says it is only for use on zombies and not humans?
Is this seriously a concern?
I guess I will use it at a range and buy some federal hst or Winchester pdx if I can find them.
I was thinking about trying to return it to scheels as I see nothing on their website about ammo not being returnable

I was planning to use it in my shield. I carry 380 cd in my bodyguard and critical duty 40 s&w in my bedside pistol

Ammo is not returnable at most stores, and I believe Scheels even has signage at the registers stating it....

Oh well I will shoot it at the range. I may carry it for now anyway. If it's the same as cd I think it will be fine

It depends on whether you are sued by a zombie or by a human.

Use them and shoot somebody with them, then have the family go after you and Hornady in a lawsuit kind of reasons...... I can only imagine the ideas that a personal injury attorney could come up with, representing the family of a guy killed or wounded with a "Zombie" round......

I would also venture to guess that the projectiles may be factory seconds, and this was a creative way for Hornady to get rid of them.....

Extrapolating that theory, all Ammo manufactures should disclaim all ammo as "not for use on humans and/or animals"

No offense but that theory doesn't hold water with me considering even Hornady offers Critical Defense ammo (as an example) and it carries no such disclaimer...

Anyway I sent them an email because I'm intrigued enough to find out what's up

I have a box of zombie max in 45 ACP but I can't find a Zombie to shoot. Anyone know where I can find some? After all if I end up in court I can always claim that the Zombie was already dead.

And FYI, I have taken the MN CCW course, twice. One of the things that sticks in my mind because it was mentioned several times by both instructors was, "you will be sued by the person you shot or their family, don't give them anymore to use against you than they think they already have". I'm assuming that Hornady does not want to be party to any more lawsuits than it already is, and issued said disclaimer to distance itself from liability, should you or somebody else use their "Zombie" ammo, for personal defense. No need to insult me further, or question my qualifications to carry a weapon. If you have a serious question, perhaps consult an attorney on the matter......

I was reading on another forum that people will not use them in their carry gun due to potential liability. Seems pretty stupid if they are just cd.
Do you think they have some sort of special gun powder that kills the undead

I'm sorry. I didnt mean to insult. You're instructor does have a valid point & I would think about that as well in all honestly.

But if you are really worried about the disclaimer then perhaps this target is the only thing you can shoot then...

I'm not worried about it. I have not used the ammo in the past, do not use it currently, and have no plans to do so in the future. Perhaps you should consult the OP, and direct your posts towards his questions. I simply offered up answers to his original questions.

There was a point a year ago when that was the only .45acp available in these parts. I would contend that the ammo shortages largely precipitated by the government made it necessary to buy the Zombie ammo. And I still have it because I haven't had the need to shoot anything (living or dead) since that time.

Anybody use hornaday's zombie max ammo?
