Default M&P Mag Catch Spring

Is the mag catch spring on the M&P a replaceable part, or is it part of the frame?

Thanks, I wonder if I can replace it, or it has to go to Smith for replacement?
I was going to pull it out but I'm reluctant to do so.

I think it's more of whether or not you can get a replacement part. Why do you need to replace it? I've never even seen that part stocked anywhere.

It's bent out of shape, I've tried to bend it back where it is supposed to be with no luck. I'm afraid of breaking it off, or damaging the frame.

I've never seen the need to replace that spring so I've never tried. I can't tell if it's just a press fit into the grip, or if it's molded in during manufacture. It does go all the way through to the underside. If you can get a replacement (call S&W, they may send you one, or tell you it's not available as a replacement part which would indicate that it's part of the frame). If you end up with a replacement part it, then I'd try pulling/driving the old one out from the bottom side.
