I recently purchased a M&P Performance Center Ported 9L.
I have only put around 60 rounds through it so far but I did shoot a full magazine off of a bench. I am not impressed with the accuracy at all. I was shooting Winchester white box 115gr FMJ. I strung rounds from dead center to about 4" left of center. I am not a novice shooter but just to see if it made a noticeable difference I did adjust my finger placement on the trigger. It made no difference. When I checked the sights on my Glock 34 it routinely shot 1-1/4" 5 shot groups at 20yards from a bench. I am curious as to what kind of accuracy are those who have a PC Ported getting out of it and with what kind of ammo. I plan to put an un-ported barrel in my PC to shoot IDPA with it. I am looking for a factory PRO Series 5" barrel, but haven't been able to locate one with the newer 1:10 twist yet. I only need an un-ported barrel for IDPA will use the ported barrel for everything else if I can find ammo that it likes. It does NOT like Winchester 115's.

I got a 4.25 ported. Never shot it yet but some have been having good accuracy with heavier bullets.

I can tell you what works for my wifes core but its a 4.25" model. Go to Brian Enos forums m&p section and ask question . Its a mostly a match shooters forum . You will get answers but plan on becoming a reloader !!
It really does help when you can make your own .

I have installed a apex stiker block kit but used the stock trigger return spring . Added a lighter striker spring and polished the connector , sear to end up with a fuzz under 4lb trigger pull . Changing to a lighter trigger return spring and it may go under some minimum pull weights . I have messed with recoil spring weights and bullet velocity and OAL lengths . I will say my wifes pistols shoots best with a 147gr Missouri coated fp at 930 to 940fps . Spring weight stayed the same but is after market - ISMI . Its dependable and lockup stays strong with a 16lb spring but many use a 15lber . Reloading is the best way to find the best accuracy but try speer lawman and Remington express ammo , both make 124gr and 147gr fmj . Then try some other cheap stuff. My wifes two 9mm are not accurate with 115gr .

I gave my m&p 40 to a daughter for a house gun . Its ok for accuracy but I wanted a box stock accurate pistol for carry and bought another makers pistol . M&P's will never be bullseye pistols .

My Performance center has the performance center trigger sear and adjustable over travel from the factory. The trigger is supposedly just over 4#'s I haven't put it on a trigger scale yet but 4.5#'s feels about rite. I do reload I typically use Berrys 124grn RN with autocomp, 231, or WSF. I haven't tried any reloads through the gun yet I was just curious as to what experiences were others having with the same model gun or something close to it like a 5" pro series core. I plan on trying different ammo through it this weekend when I have more time to do so.

I have a 5" Pro with two Apex kits and a Storm-Lake match grade barrel. It shoots good but not even close to what any of my 1911s shoot. These are not target guns M&P (military and police) not BE guns. Great for IDPA and IPSC and those SD type shooting matches. Even from a Ransom Rest you are not going to shoot tight groups at 25yds. You will see people post pics of tight groups and then note they were at 3 to 10 yds. Shoot the gun for what it is meant for they are good guns. M&P Performance Shop is not like Wilson Combat or any of the other custom shops. Don

Accuracy is not an m&p's strong suit . Its about as average or below average as a competition pistol can get .

Want see what competitive shooters a can do with a m&p . Go to brian enos forum and visit the m&p section.

Want a 1.5" to 2" 25 yard pistol buy another brand . Sigs new p320 is capable of some of the tightest grouping stock out there for a polymer handguns.

Winchester white box ammo is garbage now. Myself and several others have had huge accuracy issues with their 9mm and .40 offerings. I would suggest trying a different ammo before drawing any conclusions.

I have a 4.25 ported so Magload your saying dropin Storm Lake or KKM will work fine in the C.O.R.E. looking to get one thanks for any help.

Ok here's how my accuracy issues turned out. I contacted S&W and sent my PC Ported back to them with a letter. It left shooting anywhere from 3"-7" groups and came back 3 weeks later with a new barrel. I got it back yesterday cleaned the barrel and went out and put 8 shots inside 1-3/4" at 20 yards. I couldn't be happier and if you honestly believe that an M&P is not an accurate gun and it's a plastics pistol that's all it is and don't expect it to shoot groups! You're selling yourself short!

I'm thinking about model 10100 M&P 40 ported. Does anyone have info on what reductions (5% - 40%) in muzzle flip //recoil this pistol is over a M&P 40 caliber Pro???? If it's only 5 or 7% it would not be worth the extra $.

M&P Performance Center Ported

I have a 5" ported 9L with an FSS and RAM. It shoots 2" groups at 10 yards standing all day long. Between my comp 1911, comp glock 34 and 19, it's the most accurate. I shoot my own hand loads exclusively in all my competition 9's. I have a Wilson combat non ported barrel that I shoot in it most of the time for IDPA as ported barrels are a no no there.
