Default Crimson Trace Green Laser for A 9mm Shield

Thinking about getting one for concealed carry and wonder if any of you ever use one and what other models you may use. I have a shield 9mm and would love to acquire the target faster.

Any advice would be appreciated.....Thank you very much

I have CT LG-405 on my 442 and love them. I can pick up the target quick and shoot tight groups very easily.

I bought the LaserMax red for my 40 Shield but I have fat fingers and the back of my trigger finger was taking a beating. I did like it for shooting as I have around 5 other lasers I have used on guns off and on. Green is the way to go I like my green laser the best as it has more power and is easier to see. Picking out a holster gets a little harder with having a laser. Don

I have red Crimson Trace lasers on my 642 & M&P9c. I just installed the green Laserguard on my M&P45c. The green is much easier to see in bright sun, but the battery life is 1/2 that of the red. I have been using Crimson Trace lasers for about 12 years...never had a failure of any kind.

Visit the Crimson Trace video library for some good videos:

I have a green CT Laserguard that I recently purchased for my Shield 9. In moderate and dark lighting it works great. I also purchased the Blade-Tech IWB holster which of course fits it perfectly and I am happy with.

According to the CT, they are zero'd at 50' prior to shipping. This was not the case for me. When I took it to the range the other day it grouped about 1.5" low and 3.5" inches to the right so I did need to zero it. I plan to put a few hundred rounds through the Shield and hopefully it will stay zero'd well.

Also, despite being a pretty powerful green laser I found it was kind of hard to see in very bright sunlight at 25' on a black bullseye. (I have a red Lasermax-Micro on my 22 Compact that I couldn't see at all.) As a carry weapon I plan to use the regular sights if I ever need to use the Shield in bright sunlight at any distance.

YMMV. Hope that helps.

I choose the Viridian because it is the only model that has both an on/off switch and automatic activation feature.

Actually the Armalaser has these features plus,

has a battery access door which means you can replace the battery without changing zero

-and-

the type battery used in the Armalaser lasts forever (it's the same battery C-More uses in my red dot sights)

-and-

You can choose between strobe and solid beam

Here's a link

LaserMax red, too poor for anybody's green.

BTW, why is green always more expensive than red?

Aaaaannnnd... the Armalaser has a "switch" that relies on the conductivity of your skin. Now THERE'S something I would trust my life with...
