I have read on different forums and seen videos where a lot of folks have said they did not like how the magazine spacer will move up the magazine causing insertion issues with the longer 8 round magazines that come with the Shield pistols.

I simply applied a small piece of industrial heavy duty Velcro the fuzzy part at the back of the mag (see pic) This does not allow the long end of the mag spacer to move easily keeping it in place. I do suppose one could push pretty hard on the long end of the spacer and move it if they really tried but so far in general use the magazine spacer has stayed in place.

The small piece of Velcro does not interfere in any way with inserting the magazine. (Note) the industrial Velcro is a little thicker and sticks much better than regular Velcro. ( I picked the Industrial Velcro up at the local OSH Hardware store) The Velcro can also be removed with a little effort to lift or move the magazine spacer up for mag disassembly if needed. Then you can just cut another small piece of Velcro and replace it after the magazine service.

So far this has worked well but only time will tell if this idea has any long term value. I just thought I would share.

Be Safe All,

Thanks for posting another possible low cost (and non-permanent) alternative.

I use a small dab of Silicone glue (aka Silicone calk). It keeps the sleeve/spacer in place and can be removed should someone want to remove the sleeve.

I had the same issue with the X-Grip for full size mags in my 40c. A little dab of RTV keeps it in place but not permanently. If you remove it, a finger nail is all that is needed for clean up.
