So I have 2 full size S&W M&P 40's . The Pro Series and the VTAC model. When I load the magazine and get past the 10th or 11th round the magazine rattles. Is there anything I can do???

I've changed ammo and slapped the mag when I load it . But its all my magazines not just 1.

Mine will rattle when I shake it when not in the gun, but not when seated in the gun. Not an issue for me.

Does that happen with RN bullets? I know with HP which are shorter in OAL, does rattle. But thats a non issue.

I get a rattle in my Beretta M9 magazines too. Everything functions fine without issue. Both in my M&P's and Beretta.

From how I've observe it, its when loading ammos with shorter OAL. At a certain number, starting at 11-12 on my 6904, the ammos dont sit flush against each other, and since its (HP) shorter, the bullet hits the mag's front wall when you shake it.
It does go away (temporarily) if you try to smack the mag against your palm, (like what the GIs do with their rifle mags in the movies). I'd hazard guess this only happens with double stack mags.

All three of my Glocks do that, or, rather, the mags in all three Glocks do that. Never affected performance.

Stop worry'n about it as most double stack rattle at some point .

I asked about that same concern a few months back & was ridiculed beyond belief. there are some real snots on this forum. be careful asking questions here.

This is something that can occur with any offset-stack magazine. Many times, it's due to one or more of the rounds not offsetting as far as it should/could.

Many times, rapping the bottom of the mag against your palm will pop them into place. Other times, the act of inserting the mag into the pistol is enough to adjust everything. Sometimes one may need to unload the mag, 1 round at a time, until you find the 'offending' round, then reload them, 1 round at a time, ensuring that each round gets fully pressed to the side of the mag wall (insert a round, shake, proceed as needed).

I'm pretty OCD, but for some reason, mag rattle is one thing that never really bothered me.
