I installed the Burris Fastfire 2 Red Dot in 15 minutes and within 20 had it co-witness with no issues on a M&P core Ported 40 cal. 5 inch barrel. The main thing to remember when adjusting the sights is do do exactly what the instructions says to do. Loosen the locking screws by half a turn this will allow you to adjust the sight on the gun take it off with out any movement on the screws while you tighten back the locking screws. This sight is very small and easy to use. It is the same size as the Doctor red dot. The quality is great and I found no issues with the workmanship. The clarity of the lens is incredible. It comes with lifetime warranty and for under $200 I see no reason to spend money on optics that cost half of the gun.
I originally was waiting to get the vortex Viper but they ended up not selling it due to issues. I then was waiting for the Sig Sauer Romeo 1 but it cost $350. The Leupold deltapoint 3.5 is no longer being sold. I decided on the Burris Fastfire 2 based on the below reviews one my Jerry Miculek using the Fastfire 2 to explain and show co-witness. the other is the best review I have seen about the Ported M&P core. I really like that it has an off and on switch which is what I wanted.

The Fastfire 2 uses plate 3 screw type c. It is the same as the Doctor sights. Fastfire 2 and Doctor sights have the same foot print and dimensions. Please note in the picture I tried to get the camera at the best angle I could to show the co-witness.

Same setup for me and I like it a lot. I have been using FFIIIs on autos and revolvers (even a Mini-30) for several years. FFII is on my M&P Ported.

No failures of the sights. I did mount one on a CZ 9mm and apparently did not use the correct screws for the mount I was putting it on. After about 30 hot rounds, I felt something strike my forehead on recoil. I thought it was a casing that bounced off something. When I took aim again - no sight. I looked on the concrete pad and there was my Burris. No damage at all.

Before I bought the sight I went and looked at other sights at the store. I could not come to terms to spend more money. This optic does exactly what is was meant to do. put a red dot on top of the iron sight and co-witness due to its low profile. Unlike other I have no issues that the battery is under the Optic has it retains the low profile. The locking screws on this optic seem to have a very good grip and both screw when looking had the same amount of distance travel. I have to admit I like the lifetime warranty that Burris provides. I would only wish someone would make an optic that has on and off, automatic adjustments, with manual level intensity control, and with the low profile.
