M&P Shield 9mm Sight Pusher
Hello I am looking at the MGW sight tool, but I have seen one that comes with a white polyeurthane block. Picture attached. Can someone tell me where I can get the MGW kit that includes this block? I have also attached a video from Youtube using the tool. Thanks, Tim

According to the reviews on Midway on the tool you posted the link to, it replaces the one with the plastic insert, and does a good job, according to most, IF you use a penetrating oil (or something like BreakFree), AND take your time. It has a shim for the 40 Shield that needs to be removed if doing a 9mm Shield.
If you get it, let us know how it goes

I have the MGW that did not come with the plastic block but it works fine. Go slow and I let some penetrating oil seep under the sights first.

When I am removing the tie rod end from the steering knuckle, using a two-jaw gear puller, sometimes I reach a point where I can't turn it any more, so I wack the joint between two hammers, and it pops apart.
Could you tap the screw end of the sight pusher with a hammer, to dislodge the sight? Or is that not recommended?

One word of caution - When I installed the Apex Tactical kit on mine no matter what I did I couldn't get the rear sight to budge (to replace the plunger and spring). I finally had to take it to a 'smith, who discovered that for whatever reason S&W had used a drop of red LockTite on the rear sight.
The 'smith wouldn't tell me how he got it free, but I'm sure if I'd have kept after it with the sight pusher I'd have ruined the sight for sure.

You might want to look at this. http://smith-wessonforum.com/accesso...ote-added.html
Unless, of course, you want to spend double the money for a far less versatile tool.
