Default Meprolight

Looking at a set of these for my shield. They are quite a bit less expensive than the Trijicon, so wanted to get some opinions from anyone that has these. Are they pretty good?, or have you had any problems with them? Thanks for any advice you can give me....

Unless things have changed, Trijicon manufactures the tritium vials for all tritium night sites...so any difference is in the sight construction and design (and the size of the vial).

I think night sights are generally a waste of money, but if I had to distinguish, I prefer Mepros to Trijis.
While the vials may be identical, the glass/crystal they use and the outline are the differences.
Mepros have a larger glow dot (while some people consider it fuzzy), Trijis have a smaller but sharper glow dot as they use a sapphire crystal in front of the tube.
Mepros have a larger white outline. The dots are bigger in lighted areas, where you'd do probably all of your shooting. So Mepros always have looked better than Trijis, in my experience.
This is only true for standard night sights, of course, those large outlined differently colored offerings are even better for daytime.

No problems here with the Meprolights. Got them on a couple of Glocks. Go for it.

I've also got a couple of S&W 3rd generation 9mm's with Trijicon sights, and another Glock with factory night sights.

I prefer the Meprolights.
