Alternatives for Talon grips for a Shield
Put Talon grips on shot 50 rounds and took them off.
Any alternatives that work? Can some of you Shield owners post some pics of what our have done aides Talon?
Thanks.

I put on the Hogue Handall Jr. grip on mine https://www.hogueinc.com/store/produ...eeve-black/147 and really like them, even though I have small hands the slight palm swells made the grip just thick enough to fill my hands making for a nice solid feel.

What was wrong with the Talons? I have the Talon rubber granulate on all my M&P's and really like them. Nice and grippy without adding bulk. I have had no issues with them peeling.

The way they wrapped around the front of the grip left an edge and was digging into my middle finger. I am left handed and if they wrapped the other way it might be better.

same issue here , I have them on mine and I am left handed. I didn't realize what was happening until just now. Something was making my middle finger very uncomfortable. I didn't even think about the grip.

Yep, shot 400 rounds without them no issues. Maybe I should have left them on and put the Hogue Jr on and that combo may prevent the slippage I heard of.
I sent Talon an email explaining what happened. Maybe they have a solution otherwise I am out 20 bucks.

Ha! This is Talon's solution to the grip peeling off of the back (the "old" version met in the back)! Well, I'm glad I didn't order the new version now. I have tried the Handall and Pachmayr grips - they all slip down towards the bottom for me after about 15 rounds. This becomes a problem during an emergency reload as the rubber can block the magwell enough to prevent seating of a new mag. So, I resolved that I'm going to try my own stippling. Just haven't got the time/tool to do it yet.

Found this in my kids room when they where cleaning it up.don't know what it is but it feel and moves like a giant rubber band. . Prefect grip material. . And it could be used to keep a grip safty pressed . if you have a gun with a grip safty and dont want a grip safty. ..

Perhaps making your own pattern stencils would be an option. Its not hard to do and you can purchase sheets of the rubber grip materiel from both Talon and Traction Grips. GT 5000 grip tape available on Amazon is the same stuff, too, available in strips.

I used the Talon grip and where it was folded over on left side I cut down to match the grip pattern. I used an exactly knife.
