For those of you still "on the fence" about buying one of these smartly designed compacts, I thought I'd share my experiences with carrying one daily. :D

For the most part, mine gets carried AIWB in a Galco Tuck-N-Go at the 1 'o-clock position. Yes, I know there are better holsters out there, but for the money, this one does surprisingly well for my needs.

Yes, the somewhat aggressive grip area stippling can be uncomfortable against bare skin, but I mitigated this by flattening the texture a bit with the glazed side of a piece of old tile; others will use judicious sanding with fine paper to accomplish the same. Post treatment, I still wouldn't call it "comfortable," but at least I can tolerate it all day without any chafing or discomfort.

Little sucker hides well under an untucked T-shirt. The grip doesn't stick out and scream "CONCEALED WEAPON!" when carried in a properly designed holster, but then again, I always use the 6 round magazine as my hands are small enough for my pinky finger to get sufficient purchase on the bottom most portion of the grip. At some point, I intend to get a magazine holder for the spare magazine, but for now, I carry my Shield without a reload. I know, scandalous.

I haven't had any issues with rust either, but that could likely as not be due to my habit of always giving my carry sidearms a periodic wipe down with Break-Free CLP. Do keep in mind that hardware such the takedown lever, slide stop, and magazine release are NOT made from stainless steel and will benefit greatly from this sort of preventative treatment; I've seen photographs of rusted Shield magazine releases in the past. Also, something else you may not have thought about: Applying a drop of CLP on each side of the roll pins with a Q-tip, as these are also not rust resistant by any stretch of the imagination.

All in all, I'd say I'm rather pleased with this big bore iteration of the Shield as an EDC sidearm. It's not too heavy, and seems to be just the right size for concealment without sacrificing too much in handling characteristics. My only complaint would be the tiny hollow space behind the magazine well that seems good at trapping dust and lint and is very difficult if not impossible to thoroughly clean. Good thing the striker internals aren't accessible from that tiny hole.

the 45 shield conceals well for sure, but the handle is very long, therefore I find it prints a bit with the 7 round magazine, so I carry it with the 6 round mag, I do always carry a 7 rounder in my pocket

good report on the shield 45. Mine has been pretty flawless in over 2,700 rounds had a few ftf in the first 300 rounds but none since. I carry mine in a concealment express IWB kydex holster, Also In the summer months I'll wear a tank top under my t shirt to separate the guns stippiling from my bare skin.
My shield is laser accurate and very reliable
