does anyone have the model with factory night sights and what do they look like? are they proprietary or did they install a set of truglo, trijicon, etc... the S&W website only has side views of the gun. i like the sight picture on the fiber optic sights, but they seem way darker than regular white dots.

I'd imagine they still use trijicons, that's what my other M&Ps came with, but not positive they use them.

My FS .40 Pro Series came with Novaks' with tritiums inserts. I'm not sure if the Shields come with these or not. I put TruGlo's on one of my Shields. I like them alot!

I just put a set of XS Big Dots on my Shield 9mm. I am hoping that the Shield 45 will have factory night sights by the time I am ready to purchase one.

i'm trying to decide whether to buy the standard pc shield and replace the sights myself or save the time and effort by buying one with night sights already installed. i haven't seen any in stores anywhere. if someone was able post a couple pics of their factory tritiums, it would make me feel a bit more at ease about buying one

My M&P45 has factory NS they look identical as the factory three dot sight but with tritium inserts of course, they look more natural. I installed NS on my shield but I have the MGW sight pusher, IMO if you can get it with the NS already installed go for it, it is worth it.

UPDATE: Went to the range today to air out the new Big Dot sights. I am very impressed with them. At 5,7 and 10 yards they got the job done. All rounds delivered within an 8 inch target. Groupings could all be covered by the palm of my hand. That big ol' dot certainly covers the bullseye. Easy to shoot with and quick to get the sight picture. Made me appreciate my Shield9 even more.

Hello Everyone. I was in our LGS today and asked about what they knew regarding when S&W will add night sights to the Shield 45. He looked around on his supplier's website. Told me that the Shield 45 with factory night sights will be available early next year. Also added that the factory sites will add about $80 to the overall price of the pistol ordered from our local store. Your results may vary. I am going to wait for the night site option before laying down my credit card for a new 45.
