Hi guys, I just purchased an M&P 22 Compact. (first ever pistol btw... took it out yesterday and it ran great. I love it!)
Sorry if this is a silly question: when I got home and was cleaning it, I noticed there is some very small marring/paint chipping off around the face of the chamber. Just above the feeding ramp/chamber opening.
I put about 120 rounds through it... Is it normal to see that on the face of a chamber? I also have an M&P 15-22 but never really noticed that before.
If you're talking about the face where it contacts the breech block then yes it's normal and won't hurt a thing. Below is a picture of my 22 Compact after a few thousand rounds. Now, if you want to see something real ugly, just take a look down the end of the barrel at the workmanship, or lack of I should say.
