I have the True Precision extended threaded 9mm barrel in my Shield. Length is not an issue for me for concealed carry, so the slightly longer barrel was attractive, and it looks good. The lockup areas are slightly different than the OEM 1.0 barrel, so it fits tighter and I can be very accurate with the little gun. I agree that increased accuracy from a Shield is a tertiary concern for me, but every little bit that raises my confidence in the gun helps.
It’s expensive, but I was OK with that.
I agree that “Match” barrels are more of a marketing term than a performance criteria. I have a gunsmith fit Apex barrel on my FS M&P 9mm, 1.0, that is a great, accurate upgrade, definitely beating the original barrel that was in there. Then I bought a second FS 1.0 and that barrel felt tight at lockup. It shoots almost as well as the $325 barrel from Apex.
