Default Aftermarket Shield 9mm barrels?

Hey guys. What are a few (maybe top 3 if there are a bunch) of match grade barrels out there for the shield 9mm?

there aren't really a lot of people who make aftermarket shield barrels that I know of and I don't really think any of them would be considered "match grade". I don't even know if there is a real standard of what match grade even means other than just having tighter tolerances and better accuracy, but thats all subjective. its a 3" barrel defensive weapon, not a match gun. I don't even know if its capable of being that accurate. Its a great little shooter, don't get me wrong, but you're not gonna be splitting cards with it anytime soon. thats just my opinion

I do know that lone wolf just started making threaded and non threaded shield barrels as well as .40-9 conversions.

True Precision

I have a non threaded one with the DLC coating. Personally I didn't buy it because it was match grade I bought it because it looks awesome and the DLC seems to hold up a lot better to wear. I wasn't expecting to notice huge improvements to my groups. It's an EDC for me and I just shoot it center mass with quick target acquisition around 7 + yards, nothing crazy.

I'm more "precise" (6" steel plates at 10-15 yards) with my Shields than my Sig P320C most of the time. The True Precision threaded barrel was just as precise, if not more so-- who knows as I haven't shot paper yet.

A lot of these aftremarket so called Match Grade barrels...really aren't. Many are all made by the one company and then the seller engraves their name on them. True Precision is probably the best for the money and they do make their own...and they're ok for +P ammo. Although I don't shoot +P

I have the True Precision extended threaded 9mm barrel in my Shield. Length is not an issue for me for concealed carry, so the slightly longer barrel was attractive, and it looks good. The lockup areas are slightly different than the OEM 1.0 barrel, so it fits tighter and I can be very accurate with the little gun. I agree that increased accuracy from a Shield is a tertiary concern for me, but every little bit that raises my confidence in the gun helps.

It’s expensive, but I was OK with that.

I agree that “Match” barrels are more of a marketing term than a performance criteria. I have a gunsmith fit Apex barrel on my FS M&P 9mm, 1.0, that is a great, accurate upgrade, definitely beating the original barrel that was in there. Then I bought a second FS 1.0 and that barrel felt tight at lockup. It shoots almost as well as the $325 barrel from Apex.

Agree with all said above concerning "match grade" barrels for the Shield. But I like the True Precision black DLC on my Shield 9.
