Is there a source for replacement magazines yet? Brownells has the option to pre-order, but I haven't seen them available for sale in any of the places I looked. I guess I might have to buy a couple of full-sized ones and run them with the adapters for now.

I just bought some M&P 17 rounders on grabagun price was not to bad . Twenty something each . I have the 2.0 9 mm 4.25 .

Not that I have seen. I have some preorders in but nothing has shipped yet. Been making due with 17 rounders.

I just ordered some 15rd'ers from 44mag.com. Item#SW3000247 for $22.99 ea.. I haven't found a source for the mags the gun came with from the factory. I have a feeling the SW3000247 mags are going to have a slightly different base plate.

Actually those are politically-corrected, full-sized M&P mags dumbed down to 15 rounds to make Colorado's governor happy. They're going to stick out a little or need the spacers if you've got a 2.0 Compact like me.

Just freakin' great. I hate when vendors keep that kind of info secret. I bought 6.

So no source that you know of for stock mags with base plate that came with our 2.0 compact?

I called S&W on Friday and the rep told me that there was no inventory or even a stock number for them to order yet. Said to call back in a few weeks and they might have them in.

I'd cancel or at least switch the order to 17 round which will be exactly the same size and hold the 2 extra rounds.

I've learned that ordering S&W mags can be very tricky. Virtually none of the websites will tell what exact pistol they're actually for or what the overall length is. It also doesn't help that salespeople have no clue either. I went in a gun shop yesterday and inquired about 2.0C mags and the salesman immediately reached for a 12-round 1.0 Compact magazine. He didn't even know what mags the new 2.0 Compact takes. Frankly I'm surprised S&W doesn't even have the spare magazines for the 2.0 Compact SKU'd and available for purchase yet, because you'd think that's the first thing new owners would want to buy.

Too late to cancel the order. And sure enough, they're the length 17 round mags but hold only 15. Somewhere around here I saw someone report that all it takes to make it 17 rd is to cut the spring to the right length.

Guess it was cheaper and quicker to include a few mag adapters with the new 2.0 than to manufacture the large quantity of specific spare mags at beginning of production.

Oh well, I'll use the 2 stock mags for carry and the others for range.

Bought my S&W M&P 2.0 Compact yesterday, and it came with two 16 round magazines, nice...

Maybe S&W figured the 2 that ships with the gun is enough and everyone would be buying the already plentiful 17 round mags as spare mags. If I carried the compact I'd have the 15 or 13 depending on cal. in the gun and a 17/15 as a spare.

Can you over insert the 17 round magazine into the 2.0 compact pistol without the spacer ?

They work fine without the spacer, I shoot mine all the time that way. I carry a spare that way too.

The biggest problem I've found with the spacer is that it easily slides back up the magazine while fumbling it or reloading it with fresh ammo. Given the fact that I don't own a full-sized M&P (and really don't plan to) I may just glue them in place.

No, the mag will not "over insert". It sticks out about 1/2", which is what the spacers included with the gun are for. And they are 17 round length but only hold 15 unless you take the spring out and cut it to allow the other 2 rounds.
