2.0 Compact magazines?

If it's part #3000247, I'm sure.

I think that is the full size mag limited to 15 rounds for states that have a 15 round limit.

The mags that come with the compact 2.0 are 15 rounds. They are different mags than above.

The regular full size M&P mags are 17 rounds.

Correct, but the #3000247 are the only 15rd mags available. S&W aren't selling the stock mags yet.

True. But unless you live in a "restricted capacity" state, I see ABSOLUTELY no purpose in buying that item instead of the 17 round version. If we continue quoting that part number, others may end up getting only 15 rounds when they could have 17.

The bottom line appears to be this...the OEM 15 round magazines that ship with the 2.0 C are not available yet in the wild. If you wish to use the Full Size magazines (for which two adapters are included with the 2.0 C), you should order 17 round magazines (unless you live in a restricted capacity state).

Right?

I hope the 2 extra magazines from the rebate (assuming I dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's on the form) are the correct 15 round models. I would rather wait for those than get a couple more 17 round mags.

For me 4 15 round magazines and a few 17 round mags will be enough. I have never actually worn out a magazine including ones with thousands of rounds through them. I my magazines got dropped into the dirt and stepped on I would want more but since I never carry spare ammo I never practice tactical reloads.

Right. Don't want folks getting fooled into thinking when ordering that part# they're getting a stock type 2.0 mag. S&W lists them side by side on their website, but give 2 different part numbers with vague low res pictures. Kinda misleading.

The irony is that those people WILL be getting a stock 2.0 magazine. It will be exactly the same magazine delivered with the Full Sized 2.0 pistol in Colorado and New Jersey.

Just be aware, the 1.0 "compact" magazine will NOT fit in the 2.0 compact pistols. And as said above, I just scuffed the lower surface of the full size mags and used JB weld, now those stupid adapters are glued rock solid for eternity, works great.

Just to be clear. The 17 round standard magazine for the M&P full size 9 mm and the full size 2.0 9 mm are interchangeable and will also work in the new 2.0 9 mm compact but will stick out but will use the little adapters that came with the gun for a better look. Is this correct. Also did Brownells give any estimate for the arrival of stock 15 rounders for the 2.0 compact?

The biggest problem I've found with the spacer is that it easily slides back up the magazine while fumbling it or reloading it with fresh ammo. Given the fact that I don't own a full-sized M&P (and really don't plan to) I may just glue them in place.

Put a dab of superglue on each side of baseplate. Press together and let dry. Problems solved. That's what I did w/ my shield extended mags, as they were doing the same as you discribed. If you don't want to us glue, jut put a strip of masking tape on the magazine and slide the spacer over. It will stay put very nicely. This is what I did on my 17rd mag for 1.0 9c

Good plan, but hopefully folks know not to apply glue between the spacer and the floorplate itself or else they'll have a fun time getting that off.

Actually it isn't. You can just take a knife and remove the spacers quite easily. I'm not suggesting caking glue on it. Just a drop on both side works perfectly. You can clean off the dried glue as well after disassembled. The masking tape works equally as well, for those that are scared of using glue.

Problem with the full size 17 rounders is the gun is too big for IDPA CCP Division with those magazines!

Anyone want to trade or sell me a M2.0 Compact OEM 15 round magazine so I can shoot my new gun in IDPA CCP which was my reason for buying it!?

the full size mags work just fine without the adapter. I bought 4 full size and used the adapter on two, used the others plain and never noticed any difference so the adapters came off and went back in the box.

No, the mag will not "over insert". It sticks out about 1/2", which is what the spacers included with the gun are for. And they are 17 round length but only hold 15 unless you take the spring out and cut it to allow the other 2 rounds.

I have no experience on this, but according to James Yeager, he's seen a mag over inserted multiple times. It may not happen with "regular" mag loading, but apparently it's possible. I personally would always use the spacers.

Btw, anyone know if spacers are available from any companies that would allow me to use a 15 round 2.0 compact mag in a "1.0" 9c? Am using an XGrip right now to fit a 17 round FS mag but it's too big to conceal...

Resurrecting the thread. But I had this issue and did not want to use glue. So I grabbed 1 of my daughter's plastic rubbery hair ties and put that on the mag first then slid the adapter over. It keeps it snug enough that I don't worry about it. Versus using glue and never being about to use that mag for a full size.
