Default Dimensions & IDPA CCP Division

Hi All,
Does anyone know the height for the M&P 2.0 Compact? For some reason I’m having a tough time locating this. I have the M&P 2.0 full size for SSP Division. I was considering getting the compact so I could enjoy the Compact Carry Pistol (CCP) Division. I know it meets all the other requirements. But the height can’t be more than 5 3/8 inches and I have no idea if it meets that requirement.
Thanks!

It does, provided you use the 15rd compact magazine only.

Thanks! I live in CT and we’re limited to 10 round mags. So, I’m all set there. S&W doesn’t make 10 round mags, yet. But the range I go to has a gunsmith that puts a pin in the 15round mags so they can sell them.

I’m just thinking of the question now. But, I might as well ask here since it’s on the same topic...
Does anyone know if the M&P 2.0 Shield fits the BUG Division with the pinky extension (8+1) it comes with? Or, do I need to use the flush mag?

I shoot the Shield in BUG, which is limited to 6 rounds. Think a minute and tell me which mag to use.
Hint: the 7 round mag is easier to change quickly.

I understand BUG is limited to 6 rounds. But I thought the extended mag would help with control which would then improve performance. If the flush mag is easier to change quickly, I can train myself to get more comfortable with the flush mag than the extended mag.

I have to ask, being that you have experience with the shield in the BUG Division... is it worth it to get aftermarket sights? I have the Trijicon HDXRs on my full size and I know it’s available for the Shield. But, I’m wondering if the site radius is too short for it to matter.

Well, that's really getting into personal preference and the types of matches you shoot. Personally, although I have Trijicon sights on a Kahr, I have found them not that good for IDPA, and prefer FO front sight, flat black rear, and, for low light matches, a flashlight.
For my IDPA matches, we allow BUG Division in all matches, so we are shooting the same stages as the other divisions and need good sights to be competitive. I put a Dawson Precision 0.100 " FO as the front sight on my Shield.

For some local club night matches using USPSA rules , Carry Optics and Open rule since flashlights and lasers are not allowed.

The shield will fit the bug box with the 7 round mag only.
The compact will fit the CCP box. So will the compact with a full size slide on it. The full size M&P will also fit the CCP box with the ten round mag with some of the mag base plate trimmed off.
