I am in the market for a long barrel 9mm and was ready to go with a Glock 34 and then started reading about the M&P Pro. I have a Glock 26 for carry and a Glock 17 for range plinking and like them both. I also have a couple of decent 45's I use for range time. I have performed quite a bit of research on the Glock 34 versus the M&P Pro and they seem very comparable. Most reviews give the nod to the M&P for a better trigger and I do like the Novak green fiber optic sight on the M&P. Another nice factor is that S&W has a $50 rebate for veterans (which I am) which is good through the end of this year. Price wise with the rebate the M&P would cost me around $525 versus $640 for the Glock at the dealer I use. Would appreciate opinions from Pro owner's on their experiences.

Thanks!

The money you save on the Pro will be spent on magazines. Since the 17 and 34 use the same ones, you already have spare mags. Plus the 34 field strips the same.

Unless you want a RDS. The Pro CORE already comes cut. You'd need to look at the G34 MOS to compare. Still the M&P is cheaper.

Either way I think it will pretty much even out.

As for me, don't care much for Glocks. I put a Pro Core slide on my FS M&P with an RMR06. It's not a "real" Pro but I l love it nonetheless.

I personally don't like the grip angle of glock but the 34 is nice as I'm a competitive guy. Having the red dot cut on the M&P is a huge plus because it gives you a lot of versatility how you want to run your new toy.

The savings will easily buy you a half case of ammo if you don't reload. Mags are super inexpensive online.

Attaching a picture of my new performance center 9mm. This started life as a 4.25 m&p 40. Ordered the performance center slide kit 9mm and voila 2 calibers for 3 different division's in uspsa

M&P Pro VS Glock 34

Since you already have two glocks in 9mm I would stick to the same platform, you know you can run a g34 slide on your g17 frame right.
