M&P Shield 2.0 EZ recoil spring replacement
Hi, I recently purchased the EZ for my wife. She loves the easy to rack slide and easy to load magazines and is having a lot of fun with the gun. I did not see any instructions in the manual for the frequency of replacement of the recoil spring, nor have I seen any spring available anywhere, at the S&W website, Brownells, or Wolff Springs. Does anyone have any information?
Thanks in advance.

With such little energy being applied to that spring, I doubt you’d need to replace it any time soon. Parts are basically non-existent as of yet. I think S&W is still trying to keep up with sales of this gun. It’s been very popular. I would expect to see parts start to appear within a few months.

The Smith & Wesson lifetime service policy ensures that you'll never have to buy a replacement recoil spring. When yours wears out, simply call the S&W customer service number, and they'll send one to you for free. I own three M&P semi-autos, and the earliest I've ever had one wear out was about 4,000 rounds. I have one with over 6,000 rounds on it that still works well.

I have a M & P 22C with almost 60,000 rounds through it and the spring is going strong. So just wait until it fails, if it does, and you will get one for free.

For the small cost of replacemwnt. I would not blame someone who wanted to replace the rsa on a semi-scheduled basis. Say every 5,000 rounds. Keep the old rsa until nearing 10,000 rounds. Then order and replace again.
A pure dedicated range gun is another matter. But if used for concealed carry or home defense. Making sure all is working is important. Can’t afford to have the failure happen at a critical time when your life depends on it!!! Not for the cost of a few dollars at worst. Cheap life insurance I would say!
