Stipple the entire grip area(if that's where the scratch is) or you're just plain S.O.L.
Unless real bad, I'd just look past it..I passed on an HK one time(cheap), cause it looked like it was drug down the road..

It depends on how deep and extensive it is. Below are some off-the-top-of-my-head ideas. I have no idea if any of them are any good.
Black permanent ink felt-tip marker.
Black shoe polish. (Obviously not for the grip.)
Use whatever Corvette owners use on body scratches.
Testors plastic model brush-on paint.
Krylon or Rust-Oleum plastic spray paint.
The ever-popular Dremel tool is probably a bad idea.
Finally, if all else fails, call S&W customer service and ask what to do. Actually, I'd do this first.

I agree with the guys who say to forget about it. These things ain't no classic Browning Hi-Power or vintage Colt 1911 Gov't Model. They're utilitarian, dime-a-dozen, molded plastic tools.
That's why I started carrying one. if it gets confiscated as evidence, I won't lose my old model 60 or Colt Model 1908 to some police locker room. Lose the Shield? I'd be irritated, but not overly upset about my being out something that I can replace that day.
However, having said all that, you can try some hot glue. Melt a dab on a piece of cardboard, then, before it cools, take a toothpick and work it into the scratch. Might have to repeat a few times. When you have a good buildup, smooth it down with some super fine sandpaper, using common sense care for the remaining finish. Or, plane it smooth with a razor. Black shoe polish to match color.
Here is what I did to my 2.0 Compact. After grinding, filing, and sanding off the tacti-rail, there were lots opportunities to smooth out any remaining imperfections. Turned out beautiful. Color match by Kiwi...

deep gouges can be filled with JB Weld plastic. JB Weld makes some fantastic repair solutions.

Plastic weld it with a black zip tie
& reduce overage. Work it to match
original surface finish.

The only combat Tupperware I have is stippled. Cover a scratch and increase gripability. Works for me.
1st Glock I owned was a cop trade in. Developed a splintered off piece at the bottom of the mag well. My smith trimmed it shorter. Let me grab the mag to pull it out before Glock mags were all drop free.
