Hey guys, new member here hailing from Arizona!

I have a question, and after lots of Google-ing, I've yet to see someone ask the question that I need answers to. Are there threaded barrel options for the 2.0 Shield?? All I see when I search sites for them is threaded barrels for the 1.0 Shield.

I have a True Precision 1.0 barrel and it is very high quality and fits tight. I believe the lockup is the same for both versions. It's a little expensive, but I am very satisfied with what I spent and the results. Check out all the finish options.

Thanks for the suggestion guys! Is that True Precision barrel drop in or gunsmith fit? I was reading something about it needing a, "loaded chamber indicator delete" on the site.

My TP barrel has a semi-circular Loaded Chamber cut that perfectly matches the corresponding one in the slide.

Also, it is supposed to be a drop-in.

Mine dropped in but was very tight. The barrel hood had a hitch as it started to come up into the slide. All the machined lockup edges around the chamber/hood were very sharp. While impressive, it's not good. I took some 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper and "broke" those edges, just as I do when a slide is new, so the moving parts can slide past each other easier. I lubed all the areas liberally with grease and cycled the slide hundreds of times.

To this day, after 1,000+ rounds through the gun, if I let the slide forward to close manually, that "hitch" or slight hesitation to close is still apparent. Under full recoil spring pressure it is not noticeable. Just shows me the fit is still tight, but adjusted. Completely reliable in shooting.

Note: If you get a barrel with a colored coating, performing such sanding will remove the finish. I got the polished stainless version, did my work, shot it to break it in, then had it Cerakoted black.

I'm not sure if I'm real happy to hear that they can run that tight. Personally, I'd be pretty pissed if I have to grind on a brand new barrel I just spent $150 bucks on. Is this True Precsion threaded barrel the only option I have for the 2.0 Shield? How about the SilencerCo threaded barrels?

I would talk to TP. They will have the correct information for you on how their barrels fit. Mine is two years old, and I bought it before the 2.0s came out. They could have made minute changes in dimensions. Or I could just have had a slide with generous tolerances. It's worth a free call.

Very happy with my TP barrel. I got the Black DLC finish.

The gun has such a extreme barrel tilt I expect it would be a poor choice for a suppressor .

Hence why even look gor a threaded barrel ?

1. Increased barrel length = performance closer to design specs for 9mm cartridge
2. Slightly increased out front weight with threaded cap
3. It looks better
4. I like it (the only reason that matters)

I've never even considered mounting a suppressor on this gun.
