I have a question hopefully someone has an answer for.

Im currently looking for a light to mount on my M&P 40c. I have a TLR-1 on a G19 and a TL-1 in the mail for an FNS.

I looked on this forum and found you can modify a TLR-1 to fit the M&P40c but I dont feel like doing that, I rather purchase a dedicated light.

So the question is, what do you recommend. Im currently looking at a TLR-7 or Olight PLMini (though Im not sure if the mini will fit the 40c so if you know that, please share)

Or if you have any other lights youd recommend.

Thanks!

Can't hardly beat the Olight PL-2 Valkyrie for output, build quality and price. Longhorn Tactical has them for 99 bucks, plus 15% off and free shipping. Surefire sets the standard, but they are very expensive, and Olight comes pretty close in terms of build quality, and the Olight's output far exceeds that of the Surefire weapon lights.

I have also tried one of the PL-2 Pro rechargable models and the output was not nearly as good as the Pl-2, and the light color was kind of a milky white, instead of bright white, and not nearly as bright.

My only concern with the Olight and the charging cable.

I know my TLR-1 the battery so far as lasted about a year with regular use.

Im not sure how often Id need to charge the Olight and I do very much prefer being able to toss in batteries and go.

Not sure if thats possible with Olight. Im definitely looking over a few lights/specifications.

That's another thing I didn't like about the Pro model. It uses an internal re-chargable battery.

The Olight PL-2 Valkrie uses CR123A, or RCR123 (16340) batteries. I have used the # 16340 rechargeable Li-ion 3.6V batteries in my weapon lights and hand helds for years. Got tired of paying $2 a piece for the CR123A lithiums.
