Shield 9mm ProMag 10rnd Magazine
459525
Newly purchased Shield PC 4" and a ProMag magazine. I have never used a magazine from this manufacturer but thought I would give this 10rnd a try. Has anyone tried this magazine in their Shield and if so how does it perform.

Friends don't let friends buy ProMags. You won't hear many good things about them here.

May be ok for the range, bu if you are going to shoot anything more dangerous than a tin can, use the factory magazine.

For the range, sure. Carry it with one? No way.
I prefer Magguts.

Some people have had good results with them. I am not one of them.
I have had poor results with Promags. I still have a few for my Mini 14 but they took some work to make them work, the rest are gone. Still, they are range only. My M&P Promags (FS) were simply junk and ended up in recycling bins.

Let me tell my ProMag story again....I bought one for my SIG P229 in .40.....It jammed every round....
Contacted them...they sent me another.....told me to keep the first one.....Second one had the same issue.....Contacted them again....They gave me a full refund and when asked how to send the mags back I was told "you can throw them away".....
Now if a company THINKS they make a good product.....why not ask for the defective items back....confirm the issue....and correct it....after all knowing what I know now...if the mags worked....anyone could contact them and get an extra mag or two free.....
Promag knows they make garbage and dont even hide it......Personally not even worth the gamble as a range mag. I wouldnt want to accidentally grab it in a bad situation.

Mec-Gar mags are good, never had a problem with Mec-Gar mags in a number of pistols.

Promag Rifle mags have a fairly decent reputation, but not their pistol mags (regardless of the pistol brand).

Promag has a reputation in the industry for poor quality and reliability; my experiences with Promag support these claims. My Diamondback DB9R came with the 33 rd Glock equivalent - I bought 2 Glock mags before leaving the store.

I've seen Ford Pintos with 150,000 miles on them too. Not but one or two though.
