geco ammo

I've used about 100 rounds of it and didn't have any issues, it ran fine in both my M&P Shield 9mm and Glock 19. It reminded me of the Sellier and Bellot that I frequently use. I'd get more of it if needed and wouldn't have any reservations about using it, considering what's available it's hard to be picky right now.

I've shot several cases of it in 9mm, and lately some in 7.63 x 39 and .45.
It's German quality by the RUAG group, they also make RWS.
The 9mm used to be labeled Swiss made, but now I think it's German made.

I purchased some when I first ran across it at a gun show over 15 years ago.
It was at a good price and it was of decent quality.

I believe it is a German company but the recent available production ammo was made in Hungary. Works well.

As others have said, works well. The brass is a good quality brass. I have reloaded 9mm Geco brass 25 times without a failure. These were all in the middle of a "recommended" powder load for range use.

Geco 124gr 9mm

I recently bought a case of Geco 124gr FMJ 9mm ammo. I shoot a Ruger PCC in competition and have learned that wimpy ammo sold by US manufacturers will not always run the heavy bolt of the Ruger. I have settled on Winchester 124 gr NATO ammo and the Geco 124s and both run the gun and are accurate.

The Geco 124s are labeled as made in Hungary.

ive used them

they worked good no misfires thing is some are aluminum cased and cannot be reloaded
reasonably priced

I bought a case a few years ago. No issues on function or reliability. But at an indoor range, the RSO saw the bullets "sparking" at the backstop. Checked it with a magnet and the bullets had a steel core.

Still shooting some at an outdoor range, but may be a consideration based on your range and any rules on steel core rounds. Didn't see that coming in 9mm.

Have some Swiss 9mm made by GECO and in the red and black 50 round boxes with an action shooter shooting what looks like an Ar15. And some RWS in the orange and black 50 round boxes. All are 124 grain FMJ's. Forgot I even had them. If the GECO are now made in Hungary I wonder if they took over the old MFS facility. MFS quality was so bad, like way off center flash holes amognst other things most shooters wouldn't even bother to pick up brass with that headstamp. Frank

We pick up quite a bit of Geco brass on the ranges I visit.....it's good stuff. I guess the Germans showed the Hungarians how to punch through the center.

Only thing I've noticed is that it consistently takes more force to remove the primer. Other than that it is good ammo

This may indicate the primer was crimped in. Fairly common for military or police ammo.

I just found this thread while researching Geco ammo.
I bought another 9mm yesterday at Rural King and asked if they had any ammunition for it. All they had was white box Geco 115 gr. @~$13. I rolled the dice and bought a box but when reviewing my receipt I saw the clerk had charged me for 2 boxes so I just took the second box.
I have a couple boxes of 9s somewhere and hopefully once I get organized here it will turn up.

I have shot 1000's of rounds of Gecco in 9mm, and 32ACP Never an issue. I like to shoot and own a bunch of older European .32ACPs (Walther, CZ, FEG). These guns seem prefer the Gecco.

I’ve shot 1000s of both 124 and 115 gr Geco ammo here in Switzerland. RUAG is a Swiss company that acquired Geco. The current batches are produced in RUAG’s Hungarian factory but it’s still very good quality, in fact it’s the go to ammo for most Swiss shooters at abt $ 200.-/1000
