I would like to swap out the mag bases. I have an M&P 2.0 40c with 4 inch barrel that came with 13 rd mags but will accept 15 rd.

The place I had planned to buy from has mag bases for "full sized M&P" and "M&P 2.0 compact"

I am pretty sure I would need the mag bases for full size M&P but was hoping for some confirmation.
Thanks in advance!

Mag base shouldn't effect fit. If you don't want the gap on the grip from running a longer mag, you need a grip filler. Not sure who makes what for 2.0 grip fillers, but I know x grip makes them for 1.0 for sure.

What Seldon said^^^.

The OEM base plates won't make any difference. You might be able to find an aftermarket extended base plate.

What you need is a fullsize magazine (15 rounds). Your .40C should have come with 2 adapters.

Thanks guys but I am not looking for adapters. The gun came with two. I am just looking to replace the existing plastic base plates with aluminum after an incident at the range and don't know if I should order base plates for full size M&p or compact

You should have said this in your first post. The fullsize and compact plates are different to match the grip profile at the magwell. You should replace yours with the Compact. Make sure it's the 2.0 Compact. The 1.0 version is also a "Compact" but uses different mags.

Sorry about all the additional information in my first post. I just kind of assumed that if the gun would also take the Full size 15 round magazines that the profiles and general dimensions between the 13 round mag and the 15 round mag would be the same except that for the 4" 40C the grip would be about 1/2 inch shorter.

So in my mind .. they would take the full size base plates but I finally heard back from the company and they said compact as well. Odd .. We will see.

The 2.0 40C I have is identical in every way to the slightly larger brother except for the grip is a touch shorter and uses a 13 rd mag and the barrel is 1/4 shorter.

Dont know anything about the 3.6" compacts or if they are very different

If you look at this site, you'll see the physical comparison of the fullsize and 4" compact. I realized the models are 9mm but the same holds true for the .40s.

Note how the fullsize grip flares out a bit to provide for better pinky support. The Compact is fairly flat. The 3.6" Compact should be the same.

THANK YOU! that is an awesome comparison photo and really clears things up!! I even downloaded the pic for furture reference

Worked out great!! The compact was just what I needed. Ordered up these three from NDZ. 12.99 each and Got them in different colors for the mags so I wouldnt have to use nail polish on the bottoms to distinguish the mags.

This started because I was at the range shooting the M&P and my Sig229. Where you stand in the lane is often a little dark and my eyesight is not getting better as I get older and I accidentally tried inserting the M&P mag into the sig and it jammed up good about 1/4 inch from seating.

When I realized it I tried to pull it out with my hands but no go. So I put the spine of my pocketknife between the grips and the baseplate of the mag and tried prying. The baseplate peeled right off and there I was with springs and cartridges on the table and floor. The plastic base plate stock on the M&P mags is kind of on the soft side.

So .. these are rigid since they are aluminum, they look kind of neat and they come with scallops that match the cut outs in the grip so you CAN get a good grip on the sides of the mag with your fingers.
