Ok I'm looking at buying a new in the box m&p performance center 9mm ported with hi viz sights and grip inserts. It's a beautiful pistol with a stainless steel barrel, great trigger and superb sights. This is a full size pistol not a shield. The sku is 10217. I'm paying a premium for this so I want the best so my question is this PC better than the 2.0? I've owned a 2.0 and really didn't find much meaningful difference. What do you guys think? Go with the PC or 2.0? I do like my Smith's especially my 625 model of 1985 what a shooter!

Considering that the whole selling point of the Performance Center models is their superiority over the standard offerings, it's safe to assume that even a last gen 1.0 PC is superior to a current gen 2.0 Standard.
That being said, how much better it is or whether it's worth whatever premium over the 2.0 I cannot say. It would help to know exactly how much of a premium you'd be paying for the PC compared to the 2.0.

If that's what you want then go for it.
I have an older Pro Series because I don't want a ported gun with hi viz sights, I prefer non-ported and Trijicon night sights.
So it really depends on if you like those two features or not. I love my trigger and I believe the Pro Series got the PC trigger. I didn't change a thing.

The SKU is a 1.0. This SKU is out of production. Do you really want 1.0 features? Just asking...

Depending on the "premium", I would consider a 2.0, or even a 1.0 CORE (Optics Ready).
I have a fullsize M&P 1.0 (4.25") from 2013. I bought a 5" ported CORE slide kit and topped with a Trijicon RMR. Dropped in a 2.0 trigger. I dig it.
If you plan to drop in an APEX trigger. Either version would work.

My only input FWIW, i had a 1.0 PC Shield that I felt had a slightly better trigger over std and i liked the hiviz sights. Ran 2500 rounds thru it with 0 issues. The one hurdle I dealt with and i know not others bother, is some ammo is listed as not for ported barrels. Thin plating can flake off. Wasnt a big deal at the time as i could get plenty of the ammo i did want that was “ok” per the manu.
But these days one either could be stranded with no ammo or only using their existing stock. So options are more limited.
Again may not matter to others, just making note of the only point i ever felt was a negative on the PC.

While the 2.0 has some advantages over a 1.0, it also has disadvantages as well. Personally and for my preferences, I'll take a 1.0 w/ Apex over a 2.0 for most of the M&P platforms. Luckily there aren't a hill of beans difference between a 1.0 Shield and 2.0 Shield. There are with the larger frames.

FWIW, I put APEX triggers on both of my M2.0 pistols. A very worthwhile upgrade IMO. Oh, and I also put APEX barrels in both (4in and 5in) and AmeriGlow sights...
