I tried looking for previous post but found nothing with substance. I’m considering sending my shield 9mm for this work and would be interested to hear from folks that have had this service performed. I have a PC shield in 45 and really enjoy the trigger on it, I can only hope for the 9mm to come back similar to the 45.

You can search for the Burrell trigger job or look at an Apex trigger kit.

I did Apex kit (trigger and sear) for M&P9 with marvelous result. I would expect the same with Shield.

I installed an apex trigger kit, sear kit, and the plunger kit in my m&p2.0 3.6" and left the stock smith and wesson sear spring and I have. 4.5 pound trigger pull with minimal reset and take up. I'm betting the s&w action job won't come close to that.

I can almost guarantee you an Apex kit will give you a better trigger than anything Smith would do for you on an m&p.

I don't know anything about the Smith trigger job but I put an Apex kit in my 45 shield and it's great. Nice and crisp with a short reset. The aluminum 1 piece trigger is a vast improvement over the stock Smith trigger. I used the Blue Line model and I can highly recommend it.

Just an update. S&W was not interested in putting the PC sear in a 2.0, in a very vague way the customer service person told me it was for the 1.0 version and basically they were no longer doing it.
If what I read is true about the 1.0 going away this will leave us zero options from S&W for any improvements in the trigger.
There are a lot of options out there for the 2.0, everything from a 2.5 lb trigger to stock to all the kit options from Apex. My goal was to have the triggers in my PC 45 and this 2.0 9mm as similar as possible, I settled on just putting in the Apex sear after watching their video. They showed an approximate 2 lb. reduction in trigger pull weight which would put it very close to where I was looking to be.
My 2.0 has the thumb safety which turned out to be zero issue in the sear install. After watching the video I went after it and I must say the install was very straight forward and quick. The only item you need to pay attention to is the sear pin head, it has I believe three flats on the head. That pin is pushed out from right to left as viewed from the rear. Because of the thumb safety lever it needs to be positioned so the flats on the pin line up with the thumb lever. Very easy to do just be aware.
Bottom line is I have exactly what I was hoping for with just over 4lb smooth crisp trigger, reset is also much improved. Looking forward to my next range day.

Back in the day I sent one of my M&P 45s to S&W for the action package. I was just getting familar with the Apex kits and actually installed one one my second M&P 45. When I got the one back from S&W, it was not as good as the one I just Apexed and ended up doing a little rework just to get it comparable. My first M&P 45 was actually sent to Burwell for his work, but I would NOT modify a sear myself for a self defense firearm. Swap one out with a proven aftermarket design, absolutely. Physically modifying one myself, nope.
