Can someone please help me on this. I have a Smith M&P 2.0 4inch BBl Polymer pistol that I would like to replace it with the factory weight flat wire recoil spring. I have no idea what factory weight is on this 2.0 4 inch BBL recoil spring. Also where would I buy the same factory weight flat wire recoil spring for the 2.0 compact. I did call up ISMI Springs very good guy on the phone the one they make is for the M&P full size 4.25BBL. The person said to buy there flat wire Glock 19 spring 18 pound to put on 2.0 guide rod. Should I use the ISMI Glock 19 spring on the M&P 2.0 4 bbl guide rod? Has anyone done this. Thank you for any help on this.

Call S&W. If there's anything wrong with your recoil spring assy, or if you ask nicely, they will send you one free of charge. The pic below shows one I received for a Shield 4" barrel. They have also sent me RSA's for other guns.

Good info from ISMI and I do use a glock 19 18lb recoil spring on the stock recoil rod in my M&P 4" compact 9mm .

Try Midwest Gun Works or Numrich. They carry factory recoil spring assemblies for the different models- full sized, compact, Shield, etc- and the different calibers. Cost for a recoil spring assembly is about $30.

Why buy a recoil assembly when you can change the recoil spring
only at home and save some money even if you buy several different weight spings .
