I was looking around eBay and I noticed people are selling lots of 10 round magazines that look like original higher capacity magazines, but they're just not saying it in the description. Don't 10 round 6904/6 magazines have that line like the one on the picture and the right? I have seen pictures of mags with the number 12 yet the description says 10…I guess they police the headings but not the pictures.

Remember...... a 30 round magazine also holds 10 rounds. ;) Be aware! I'd bet eBay has sold many that way - kind of a don't ask - don't tell thing I believe.

There have been larger capacity mag's that have been "permanently modified" to only accept 10 rounds. Some use internal plastic, metal or wooden blocks, some use a pin or rivet, and some use a post welded internally blocking the follower from going down it's full travel. As long as one can not easily or rapidly convert t back without extensive handiwork, it is supposed to be perfectly legal to sell in restricted States, but I am not giving legal advise and I am not a lawyer.

When I lived in a restrictive State that allowed only 10 rounds I actually cut down a few 15 round magazines to comply and they could only hold that amount - no questions or opinions about it. Those are the ones I'd bring to the range. The larger capacity magazines were sent to the new State I now live in where no restrictions are made on capacity.

eBay also prohibits switchblades, but I've seen plenty of them sold.

The people who monitor the listings can't possibly know everything about everything. They rely on descriptions and reports.

I doubt they use people. I bet the software looks for key words and only flags ads when it finds them. Hence "creative" people get away by advertising 12 round mags as 10 round mags.

From what I have seen unless the item description list a capacity greater then 10 rounds whatever screening algorithm Ebay uses won't pick it up and delete the listing. Of course if some Mrs. Kravitz looks at the listing and has a hissy fit, they will remove the listing.

Nice to see you back. Or maybe I've just been haunting other parts of the forum.

If it identifies as a 10 round magazine - it must be. I have been satisfied with the OE magazines that I have purchased from eBay and their round capacity but then I live in Texas..
