Thank you for sharing so,. Just so I'm clear. You were able to fit the new flat stick trigger on the 2.0 with the original hinge trigger?

Let us all know how it shoots, and if you had any difficulties with the installation of the new trigger. Personally, I’m not entirely sold on the whole “flat” trigger idea. I’ve got one installed in my 380 Shield EZ (a Galloway Precision), but I’m not particularly fond of it. Yes, it works as advertised by allowing a consistent pull regardless of finger placement, but I’ve never really struggled with the triggers on any of my pistols once I’m used to them, and I don’t particularly care for the aesthetics of the flat triggers. I also really like the trigger on my M2.0 Compact. I am interested to hear how this one performs though.

Flat triggers showed me how many issues I was having with the curved triggers on certain pistols. I would agree that they look a bit industrial, but I cannot see them from behind the gun, and the paper I'm killing doesn't seem to know the difference. ;)

Yes. This is a 3.6 in. 2.0 compact that came with the hinged trigger and I put the flat bow trigger in it. It will work in the non Shield 9 and 40 caliber 2.0 pistols, but not the 45s and not the 1.0 M&Ps.


I got it from Ebay seller FREESTONE ARMORY


He was only able to get three guns with this trigger this time. He buys handguns directly from Smith and Wesson and sells them as parts. Free enterprise :) Great store. I've bought from him 8 or 10 times. Super knowledgeable and helpful too. He's a certified dealer and I think he said certified S&W gunsmith if I remember right. In any case he is able to buy directly from them and he KNOWS what he is talkin about. Very impressive expertise.

Truth be told, I didn't even mind the hinged trigger lol. I have maybe 3500 rounds through this one and the 45 full size and I shot them both fine.



I got the email from S&W for the 10mm and saw the new trigger. I immediately messaged freestone and he said that he would be getting some pistols that had it and that they should work in the 2.0s, but he didn't know how many, but he would hold one for me and let me know when he had them. He did. I send a lot of people over there so I guess he saw it as returning a favor.



Installation was identical to the hinged trigger if you've ever had an M&P apart. As long as you have a slave pin (I made one out of a piece of 1/8 in. metal rod I got from Home Depot) installation is pretty straight forward. If you don't have a slave pin I don't think it can be done. There's no way to get all the parts to stay lined up in the hole in the block.

HERE are a couple shots of the assembly. The second is comparing a spare hinged one, which I also got from Freestone, to the new flat one before I put it in. The bars are identical.

I got 50 rounds through it yesterday at the range. An outdoor range where you can move around, draw from a holster etc.



Here's the thing. This is a good trigger and I like it better than the hinge. However, as somebody who doesn't hate the hinged triggers, I might not be the best guy to ask.

It feels better, a bit more positive on the finger and Ill get one for the 45 if they become available. After a few rounds I didn't even notice the dingus thingy when doing drills. To me anyway, it was like it wasn't even there.

That said, I wouldn't have been crippled with the hinged trigger. I rarely shoot these pistols beyond maybe 12 or 15 yards so bullseye marksmanship doesn't figure all that much into my thinking.

For somebody who likes the 2.0 trigger overall, but just tolerates the hinged shoe, this would be a huge improvement.

The fact that it's a factory S&W part and doesn't change the break weight would also be good in court. At least in jurisdictions (like mine) with firearms experts for the prosecution who may go through the trouble of figuring out that the trigger weight in a SD case is significantly different than it came from the factory.

If you have a red dot on a gun that has a flat trigger and the other m&P with the hinged curved trigger you will definitely see a difference because the hinge trigger you'll see your Red Dot jump a little bit to the left a millimeter with every shot unless you're perfect and the flat face you'll see the Red Dot less likely to move to left if you're a right-handed shooter definitely a difference but I shoot well with both configurations

I have seen him on Ebay. He has lots of hard-to-find parts for M&P's, but lately his prices are a little too expensive for my blood. I was looking at a manual safety kit not too long ago, and he was asking almost $100 for that (this kit is worth $20 at best when it's in stock). I don't blame anyone for wanting to make money, but this is a little ridiculous.

I find this to be a huge issue with my 2.0 Pro CORE. A perfect press is a perfect press. Anything else and I definitely see the dot jump to the left when dry firing.

I will have to try this new trigger when I can find one at close to factory prices.
 
The thing I dislike the most about the hinged 2.0 triggers is where it breaks. It breaks far too late in comparison to other guns I carry and shoot well. Does this new trigger break sooner than the standard 2.0? I’ve watched a couple vids on the new trigger, but it’s hard to tell.

This is only with the new shoe though. Same internals as the 2.0

I bought a 2.0 SHB along with a 2.0 trigger bar with trigger from FREESTONE ARMORY to install into one of my FS 1.0 M&P's.
So, I can now buy a new S&W flat trigger to replace my hinge trigger with?

If the 2.0 trigger works then the flat shoe/bar assembly will work too.

So if you have the 2.0 SHB and 2.0 shoe/bar assembly in there now, then the new one should work too.

I know that the 2.0 bar assembly won't work in the 1.0 pistols, but if you changed out to the 2.0 SHB and the 2.0 shoe/bar is working then you would be good.

I think I said that 3 times lol :)


EDIT: Oh wait, you're saying full size 9mm right? I think it will work in the non Shield 9s, but not the 45s.

Ya know what? You might be best off asking him. He'll answer you and he'll know for sure.

Quite so. I've bought tons of parts from him too. However, what the other fella says is also true. His prices have gone up by a chunk in recent months.



That's not a blast, but it's hard to fault somebody for charging what people will pay on the other hand.
