Default Does anyone have the new 2.0 Optics pistol? If so I have a few questions

I've been looking to take the dive into optic ready pistols, and seeing I have a M&P 2.0 Compact, I'd thought I'd give the new 2.0 Optics Ready pistol a look. Does anyone have one, hows the flat trigger, and what RDS are you using....does it co-witness with the higher suppressor ready sights?

I have the Optics Ready M2.0 Compact 4" pistol, except mine has the curved trigger. I've got a Burris FastFire 3 red dot on mine and it will co-witness with the taller suppressor sights.

One problem with the FF3 though is the base of the sight is too high and will cover most of the suppressor sights, except for a small portion of the top of the sights. (I may get a red dot with a shorter base to fix that.) The FF3 does have a vertical line on the back of the base which helps one line up the suppressor sights. Any red dot with a shorter base should allow you to see the suppressor sights better, though.

Other than that I like it a lot. It's just like my non Optics Ready M2.0 Compact.

I have a full size 5” and it co-witnesses with the OE Crimson Trace and Vortex Venom. Co-witnessing with the Venom is so close I was able to align the dot with sights at home. At the range it was very close.

One draw back of the Venom is the ‘locking screws’ are blocked by the rear sight. To make adjustments the rear sight needs to be removed. Plate #3 needed a little trimming.

i modified plate type 2 by sanding down the nubs to be able to use a holosun 407k, co witnesses with the ironsight sitting slightly below the dot, although you can angle the gun so the dot is further away, giving clear unfettered view, seems to be at a 25 yard zero.

flat faced triggers are a novelty and a trend/bandwagon. and the extended slide stop messes with the reset audibility, tactile response, and rubs against the holster, so i replaced the trigger and the slide stop with normal last gen 2.0 components. the new flat face trigger is also very delicate, there's a big hole where something could get caught under. it seems silly that they would try and save weight on something as small as a trigger face.

I'm currently looking to get a 2.0 Compact and put a RDS (Holosun or RMR) on it.

Trying to decide between buying the optics ready model or a standard one and having the slide milled. I saw one reference where a Holosun 507K was used on a 1.0 milled slide and the standard sights were still useable in the 507K window.

Anyone have any experience with this? I kinda like the idea of the lower sights if possible....

Thumbs up Thumbs Up on the Holosun 507C and M&P9 Compact

On a recent trip to my local range with the CSX, I thought I would try one of the rental pistols, an FN9C, that had a Holosun 507C Optical sight with green reticle. I was incredibly impressed with the Holosun, seemed much easier, at least for me, to find the reticle and acquire the target than traditional red dot sights I had tried. I was so impressed with the Holosun 507C that I bought one the same day (no, I do not own stock in the company). The 507C gives you 3 choices of reticles to switch between, circle and dot, circle only, dot only, and it is very bright and easy to see.

I just mounted it on the S&W M&P 9 Compact 4 inch. As I very much like the curved hinged trigger on my Shield PC, I was initially a little apprehensive about the flat trigger on the M&P Compact but now decided that I do like it, very nice trgger pull, typical of what we have come to expect from S&W; the only difference being the trigger action was excellent right out of the box and did not take a few rounds to smooth out like some of my previous S&W, 3914, Shield, CS9, CSX, etc.

With regard to sights co-witnessing, the M&P 9C came with what appear to be tall suppressor style sights, and they show up fine in only the lower portion of the Holosun Optic window, they do not interfere at all with the optics reticle, as the iron sights, even though they appear a bit taller than regular S&W Novak style sights, they only appear, should you need them, in the lower portion of the optic window.

I have the 2.0 compact with factory ready for RDS. I put a 507C on it and it works very well. S&W sends several adapter plates with the gun/kit. I liked it so well that I sent my other 2.0 compact to be milled for the 507C at CHPWS. Total cost for each was about the same after it was all done. I really like the 507C. You can change the battery from side w/o removing the entire sight.

I have a 4" Shield 2.0 with optic and really like it. With my eyes, the RDS is a winner for faster more accurate shooting.

Brian Maybe your corn-fuzed a bit . You can see the stock tall sight m&p optic ready pistols to help you zero your optic but not to align for general shooting with the majority is dot optics . I've run trijicon and holosun 507c on a m&p core and 2.0 optic ready compact with no issue . The dot can be anywhere on the optics lens but on a target and thats where the bullet will impact . Stock sights are for first time zero , more or less and for back up of optic dies .
