What are you that carry the Plus using to hold your spare mag? I carry my spares on my "off side"-left side. The carriers I have for my Glock 19 don't hold the Plus mags snug. I've reached out to a few makers of kydex gear through their email system weeks ago and haven't heard back from any of them.

Thanks in advance.

I use a Crossbreed hybrid mag carrier to match my Crossbreed hybrid holster.

I can say that I have been completely satisfied with my Kydex magazine pouches from Kytex Shooting Gear. They are GREAT folks and their customer service has been tremendous. I have used their mag carriers for approximately the last 15 years. I have found that single pouches are more versatile than doubles. Singles conform to the curvature of your waist better and you can carry one or two depending on your needs.

If the Glock carriers are indeed Kydex and not injection molded plastic, you can adjust them with nothing more than a hair dryer (or heat gun) and a pair of oven mitts.

Warm up the kydex until it's a bit pliable, insert the mags and (using the oven mitts) fit the kydex to the new mags and let cool, either on the counter top, or in the fridge.

Good Kydex may be reshaped several times without compromising its integrity. I've reshaped several holsters over the years.

and of course, there are YouTube videos showing how to do it. :)

Thanks all. I’ve been using my front pocket, while a secure method certainly not the best for me. I found a local guy purely by accident that is making one up for me.

Pit bull Tactical - never bought another brand specific mag holder. Works with all mags

i don't use spare mags, i think the industry uses scare tactics and marketing to get people to buy things they don't really need. your gun will malfunction before the mag ever does(provided you're using a proper ccw gun with oem magazines), so this whole you need a spare mag in case the one in the gun breaks is silliness. instead i would get a gun with proper capacity instead. 15+ should be standard

Nonsense.

Mags are often the source of a malfunction, if not the main source in a well used gun. They are near disposable items, and at the very least need cleaning and regular spring maintenance.

If your mag goes down, remove all the bullets from it and now your pistol is a single shot. Might as well carry a revolver.

Don't know what your experience is but for me 50+ years of using, carrying and competing leads me to prefer having a reload handy.

My late father routinely carried two .38spl snubbies, I know he sure was glad he did the one time 2 guys tried to rob him after he closed up his business and had the week's cash with him.

mags for modern semi autos don't malfunction if you keep it in good condition. my solution is to always keep a "carry mag" inside the gun and never use it at the range or training unless testing it for reliability initially.

even damaged, most mags have very very little chance of malfunctioning. 1911s are guns of that nature are very finicky, but m&ps and glocks? not really.

again, it's a scare tactic. how many guns fail actually due to the magazine? probably could be counted on on hand in the past hundred years.

I always use all of my mags, to make sure they function properly. Carry mags too. As I mentioned previously, mags require regular maintenance/cleaning and periodic mag spring changes, just as the guns do (recoil assemblies etc)

I've had more reliability issues with semi-autos due to magazines. ARs are especially the prone to reliability issues due to magazine issues.. Magazines are considered to be a critical component in a semi-auto functioning properly.

The op asked what mag carriers, not if a secondary mag was required. Try to stay on topic.

Interesting perspective to not carry a spare mag. John from Active Self Protection agrees with you.

And here's another perspective since we've gone off topic about finding a mag carrier and have delved into whether to carry extra ammo or not. My last word on the topic is do whatever you feel is appropriate for you- I'll take real world experiences for $500 Alex. S&W Fan is out.
