California compliant CORE ?

Can a California compliant s&W c.o.r.e pistol accept standard magazines or is there a modification to the gun and not just the magazines?

Usually only the magazines are different with low capacity pistol versions but call S & W, they should know.
 
First, there is no CA compliant CORE. The M&Ps (except for the 1.0 Shield) went off the roster back in 2014. CORE models were never on it.

Having said that, COREs take full-size mags. S&W make 10 round versions of them. There are no mods to the gun itself so they will accept 17 round mags.

The 1.0 CA M&Ps also had a magazine disconnect so it would not fire without a mag.
