New M&P Performance Center 10 MM w/5.6" barrel

M&P10MM M2.0 with 5.6" ported barrel and slide

SKU 13915, M&P®10MM M2.0™ with 5.6" ported barrel and slide just announced. It looks similar to the PC M&P 45 Ported CORE

I wonder is S&W has addressed any of the previous problems with their 10MM (mags dropping and failure to shoot heavy loads) in this latest model or if this is just the same old version with just a couple of updates.

I'd love to have one, and this latest model does look great, but until I know that these problems have been addressed I will continue to hold off buying one.

I'm one of the fortunate ones that has not had any issues with my 4.6" 10mm 2.0, and it's very comfortable to shoot. The new 5.6" bbl. version does look very cool, and the extra barrel length and porting should reduce felt recoil at least a little bit. Hopefully S&W has addressed the F2F and mag drop issues...I haven't seen many negative threads in the past few months.

Building off of the successful launch of the M&P®10mm M2.0™...

Really? Let's see, my 4" only required a trip back to the factory for a barrel replacement, replacement of the recoil spring assembly for a heavier poundage, swapping the magazine springs for extra power units, polishing the feed ramp, polishing the chamber and over 500 rounds break in to finally get it to run. This isn't uncommon.

I am also part of the lucky group with a problem free 4.6" version. That said, I've been trying to find the .45 version of this with absolutely no luck. Hopefully this 10mm one isn't made of the same unobtainium.

Side was ported near the end of the barrel !! Not worth much . Its to big to carry so whats it or the 45 5.6" version for hunting ?? Rather have a magnum rervolver than shames the 10mm
Do Not be a beta tester !!

Mrgunsngear Channel, just did a review on it and it wouldn't feed 200 gr PMC's.

Ate everything else though, but he said his 4.6" 10mm feeds the 200gr PMC and everything else with no issues.

Might be a pmc issue ! . Just one more of those why bother handguns.

I initially had a case of gun lust. After I thought about it I decided that my 4.6" barreled 10mm was more versatile.

If I want more power, I have 2 S&W 500 Mags.

My 10mm initally had some issues with Underwood 200 and 220gr hard cast. seems to be over that now. Don

I already ordered mine. I figure by now the FTF and mag drop issues have been addressed, and the fact that it's a PC gun makes me feel better about it. I'll stick a nice Holosun on it and get back to you when it comes in. :-)

Sure, they come out with the long barrel after I buy the 4.6"...%$&^%$@#!

Your luck must be just like mine.....bad! That's exactly what usually happens to me.

I've found out it's not always good to be the first kid on the block with the newest must have toy.

It seems like that's the plan of manufacturers....come out with a new model that everyone rushes to buy, but leave off some of the important improvements. Then when sales start to slow down, introduce a new must have improvement to boost sales.

Repeat as often as necessary.

Sig's used Beta testers for years with the p320 and p365 so why not s&w !!

I was in an LGS last week and noticed they had one. Plan on going back to check it out and determine whether it "trips my trigger". Looking to fill the polymer niche that my 10mm 1911 won't fill. Slapped a 10MM slide on my G21. It's still a glock (meh) and this with a Timney trigger. Held the P320 10mm. Had a 320 back in the day for a bit and the trigger just does not enamor itself to me.

Personally like the thumb safety as all my M&Ps have them. That said, my only excursion to a 2.0 trigger system vs. 1.0 did not leave a lasting impression. My 1.0s w/ an apex system had a better trigger pull and tunable as the 1.0s still had the trigger loop that could be adjusted.

This won't replace my 686+ during snake season or my 629 during deer season. Something to be said though for having this in a chest rig during those in between times. Night sights, accessory rail, and optics ready add appeal.

Bit the bullet and snagged one. Fit and feel were good. Trigger pull broke crisp around 5 lbs and for once not too far forward or too far back. Little hitch because of slop in the actuator, which seems to be par for all 2.0s. Wish they would tighten the tolerances a little to eliminate the wobble.

Did the obligatory breakdown, clean, and lube before hitting the range. Primary focus was to sight in and get familiar. Range ammo was Rem 180gr FMJ UMC advertised at 1150 fps. Stayed open sights and shooting was offhand at 25 yards. Burned over 50 rounds with no malfunctions at all. Bad news is the M&P MGW sight tool won't work, sights too tall but the wheeler universal did.

Overall accuracy was on par with my M&P 45s, which is saying something. Once the sights got dialed in, offhand groups @ 25 yards were in the 3"-4" range. Shooting was comfortable, no fatigue. Finished with 10 rounds of Hornady 180gr XTPs over a load of Bluedot pushing around 1150 fps. This is accurate out of my 1911 10mm and the M&P liked them too, hitting same point of aim and 9/10 stayed within a 3" circle.

Overall first impressions are good. Need to find a good kydex chest holster to fit it and one or two spare mags.

I really dig the look of it, reminds me of my H&K USP45 Elite.
