Reminds me of how much I like these MP pistols. Sort of forgot, really. Had a MP 40c but sold it many years ago when I ditched .40.

Picked up a Smith & Wesson FPC a few weeks ago and wanted a magazine compatible pistol. So, I swapped my Shield Plus for this nearly new M&P9 Compact 4". It feels better in hand than my Glock 19. I shoot it about as well as my Third Generation Smiths and Beretta PX4 Storm Compact Carry. It rekindled my interest. Definitely picking up a couple more. 10mm, 5.7, etc. It is very comfortable in an appendix carry holster. I think my daughter likes it too. It'll be old school by the time she's old enough to shoot.

Anyone else get back into the M&P line after a break?

Nice pistol for CC duty . If your daughters grow up to be anything like our girls they will lay claim to several of your favorite pistols one day and not like you can say no. Ha She looks to be ready for some range time with a 22lr !

I have a 2.0 4" compact 9mm too but for the future with a dot optic , maybe . I still carry a full size 40 as one of my CC options .

Good luck with your new 2.0 compact

I had one but sold it. The right hand slide lock/slide release does not work for a lefty. My Glock 45 works just fine. Mine was not optics cut either and I am wanting to go with optics cut guns. I put an Apex Flatty in mine and it was great.

And, just think... All you really needed to do was buy a 40/9mm conversion barrel and a couple magazines to be good to go in 9mm!

Cheers!

My M&P M2.0 4 inch Compact is my favorite autoloader that I’ve owned. That’s counting literally dozens of pistols from Smith & Wesson, Glock, SIG Sauer, H&K, Beretta, FN, Springfield Armory, Colt, Taurus, and likely some I’m forgetting at the moment. Mine has proven to be a workhorse, reliably firing anything I can throw at it to include steel cased ammo. It’s accurate, about the perfect size, and I love the grip texture. If there’s a better semiauto pistol out there for me, I’ve yet to find it.

An M&P 9 was my first handgun purchase. Despite having numerous other options, it’s still what would greet you if you enter our bedroom uninvited. 😂

Actually, that same purchase included an M&P 22 back when they were made by Walther. The logic was that could be the stepping stone for “the girls” to the 9. Same manual of arms and very similar dimensions.

Used my M&P 9C for LEOSA qualification yesterday, shot a 96.4%. The gun is all factory stock, no after market add ons.

Mine gets used for LEOSA quals as well. Compared to the pistols I was issued over the years, my M&P feels like I’m cheating. I don’t really know what it is about the pistol that just works well for me, but it does. Another 100 flawless rounds went down the pipe this weekend with no issues whatsoever.

I don’t carry mine b/c finding a high quality lefty shoulder holster is next to impossible.
