Hi all, found a used M&P 2.0 4.25 inch 40 S&W at a local GS. Looks lightly used, no wear mark on the top of the barrel near the caliber engraving. The color on the guide rod is still bright green. Hasn't been cleaned but rifling looks good. asking 299.99. Is that a good deal?

Is this number two m&p 40 ? If overall condition is nice its more than likely will make a real good shooter , hd or carry handgun . I still carry an 11 or 12 year old 4.25 40 or occasionally a 5" 2.0 40.

The unknown - Depending on how many rounds of ammo have been fired you might change the recoil spring to a new green recoil spring or assembly but also check and clean the striker assembly . Thats might give you a better idea of how much its been shot too . Just leave that are in general clean and dry . I have an older m&p40 and even with around 6000 rounds fired its real hard to see wear on the parts . Minor wear marks on the barrel is about it .

Yea this would be M&p 40 number two. Don’t necessarily need it but seems like a good deal. Very minimal barrel wear compared to my barrel showed standard wear around 1K rounds. But to your point looks can be deceiving. I have a 9mm shield with 3k rounds and it looks brand new, granted it’s 9 not 40.

Will heck every needs a back up handgun and its nice when it the same model and caliber .

They don't get much cheaper than that online, e.g., $279 at AIM Surplus, and buying local you can see what it looks like first.

That is a good deal. I have seen LEO trade ins online for around that price. Usually a little more.
I recently bought an M&P40 gen 1 LEO trade in from PSA (I wasn’t looking to buy any guns either). It was under $300 otd. It is in really good condition. And, since I have an extra 9mm barrel for it, it is now a multi caliber gun.

Sounds good to me, I just recently bought a police trade-in M&P40c for $269.99 a couple months ago and I'm completely satisfied with it.
