Just picked up a used 380 ez pistol from guns .com and first time shooting was awesome on target every time. Great pistol highly recommended.

After shooting this one I will probably buy another 380.

We have one and like it a lot. Have not had issue and it has fired all the different ammo we have tried. Definitely a keeper. Also bought a Ruger Security 380 and NOT impressed at all. Very picky on ammo and have a problem with one magazine.

A Ruger picky on ammo? There's a first. What stuff doesn't it like?

Not wanting to hijack here but the 3 rounds on left are Herters, Aguila, Speer Lawman, 3 on right are Perfecta, Fiocchi, and local pro reloader. Notice the crimp on the these on right. They fail to load about 95% of the time. ALL fired flawlessly in the 380 EZ.

I don't know if it is perspective, but the far right rounds (the reloader's) look like they have a longer overall length with a bullet with a short ogive. All three on the left look like either the cases are undersized or the bullets oversized. Lot of bulging and wrinkling going on. If they work in the EZ but not the Ruger, it suggests the Ruger has a tighter chamber.

For FMJ we shoot Fiocchi in the 380s we have. So far it's been flawless in an EZ380, a Ruger LC380, a Ruger LCP, and various Sigs.

I looked around for some pistols recently after about 10 years. Back in the day a family member had a .40 cal Shield that I shot a couple times. I did not like it - too hot for too small of a gun for me. So I went the 9mm route in the Shield this round and while I was at it I discovered the 380 EZ shield. Intrigued by the backstrap safety and the .380 cal in the form of a Shield, I picked one up also to try.

If it weren't for being a .380 it would be my new favorite gun. Its accurate, easy to shoot, and so far no functional issues.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of .380 with it being a lighter round. However, I am really happy to have this in my collection as an option. It is a fantastic starter pistol for someone that isn't accustomed to shooting pistols.

I think Smith & Wesson hit a home run with this one.

It looks like, functionally with the backstrap safety/1911 style, the comparable 9mm to the 380 EZ right now is the Equalizer, which is also a double stack. I have that on my radar. However, I like my 9mm Shield even though its a single stack.

Love my EZ, fun to shoot, easy to operate, accurate, reliable. One of the few handguns I own that I can shoot one handed or with my non-dominate hand reasonably well.
Also owned a 9mm Shield gen 1 and .45 Shield. Both were also great but as I thinned out my collection the 9 & .45 went and the .380 stayed. The .380 EZ is as easy to shoot as any of my rimfires. Most .380 full size pistols are blowbacks with considerably more recoil.
Only issue was with stovepipes from the original mags but none of the new mags I bought with stronger sorings ran fine. I bought mine used and S&W replaced the original mags for free.
I did have some issues running steel cased ammo so I replaced the spring in one of my mags with a stronger spring, I think it was a Wolff spring for a CZ82 mag. One less round of capacity but it's reliable.

I think my next purchase will be the Glock 43x.

I gave my step daughter the EZ380 for Christmas a couple years ago. No complaints yet, but I don't think she takes it out very often.
He's (son in law) getting a Glock 22 this Christmas from me. It was one of the police trade-ins that came to me in new condition. Of course I had to try it out before I wrap it up. It's deadly even for me at 25 yards; all center mass hits on the paper torso.
I had a G42 years back when they were fairly new. I hated that little gun, but it was good for what it was. 20 yards in a paper plate was good enough for me.

Have any of you tried the new Federal Hydro Shok deep in your 380EZ? I've seen great reviews of the ammo, but it's not cheap and I was curious how well it has fed for anyone who has tried it, before I spend the money on a few boxes. Thanks.
