So when I took my granddaughter shooting the other day, we rented a Glock. Got me thinking (I know, dangerous) about an S&W M&P.

I had seen half a dozen at local pawn shops in the mid $300s. Stopped today after and bought this one with the Crimson Trace laser for $300. Laser is in the box, not in the gun.

I will have to disassemble the gun to install it, but that will have to be after the holidays.

My question has to do with how does one turn off the laser? I put the battery in the laser cartridge and can turn it on by squeezing the side, as I assume it works when installed. But once I turn it on, I can't figure out how to shut it off.

This is new territory for me as I am primarily a revolver guy.

Looks like a great buy for $300!

You have what S&W called an integrated CT laser (built in to the frame), as opposed to a CT Laserguard that can be removed. The current manual for the integrated laser says the side buttons (either side), turn the laser on, to pulse mode, and off. It also has an auto-off feature after 5 minutes of continuous activation. The manual was too big to attach but the link below should get you to it - see pages 48 - 59.

Robert that is an excellent deal and great move. I have been a proponent of lasers for many years. We have a bunch of CT lasers on pistols and rifles. I will not buy a gun for defensive use that I can not put a laser on. I shoot idpa matches and we have two night matches each year the first Saturday after daylight savings time goes away. I use a light and laser combination. A lot of guys have gone to red dots so they just ad a light. But I have talked to a lot of dot users and it is pretty universal that first using a dot requires a lot of practice to be effective. Not so w/ a laser. Also green lasers can be a lot more effective in the day than most people think.
