Default Older M&P 40 Compact, New Mags - Compatibility?

All,

Can anyone tell me if the following new mags are compatible with a .40cal M&P Compact from about 2011-2012? I don't have much other info on the pistol at the moment, but I can get more details beyond the year range if that would help.

I believe the mag compatibility to be OK, but I figured with the knowledge base here someone can confirm either way.

10 round with grip extension - SKU 194550000
10 round flush - SKU 194560000
15 round (requires X-grip adapter for Compact) - SKU 194390000
15 round (requires X-grip adapter for Compact) - SKU 3007346

I am not sure what the difference is between the last 2 15 round mags, but the last one is more expensive.

In my experience the M&P 40 S&W & 9mm FS magazines work in Compacts and the Compact magazines don't work in the FS... Grip extensions are optional as far as functionaliity is concerned.

Cheers!

I have used a full size mag in my compact since I got it years ago - with what is called an X-grip adapter.

My question is with the new mags. If I get any of the SKU's I listed - will those for sure fit my older compact? Or did S&W make changes to them over the years to where I need to find an "old style" mag?

The 2nd 15 round mag has an FDE base plate, the 1st one is black.

Bear in mind, that your M&P 40C is considered V 1.0 (although not marked/labeled that way). It's essentially the same as the M&P Subcompact 2.0 as far as mags go.

I have a fullsize M&P and Compact (both 9mm and 1.0s). I use my fullsize mags in the compact with the Xgrips.

While XGrip adapters are not required, you can risk over insertion and possibly damage the ejector with a "forceful" reload without it.

So yes, the mags listed above will fit.

The M&P40c is literally compatible with every M&P40 magazine except for the single stack M&P40 Shield.

In fact, it will even accept Sigma SW40/SD40 magazines.

Sigma/SD magazines are compatible with M&P Compacts?!-m-p40c-sw40ve_magazine-jpg

Thumbs up

SW/SD Sigma mags in my M&P Compact...? It's a GOOD DAY when you can learn something new you can use!

Thanks!

Yep, they fit a bit snug in the mag well, but they work.
