Smith and Wesson Customer Service
To make a long story short, I had to return a pistol to Smith and Wesson for repair. They sent me a shipping label as soon as I contacted them and my pistol was picked up two days later.
Two weeks after sending it off, I was contacted via e-mail and informed that my pistol could not be repaired, and asked, how would I like a new one at no charge? Needless to say, I jumped on that offer, and took delivery of the firearm today.
Its hard to beat that kind of service. Thank you Smith and Wesson.

Can't beat their customer service. I've had nothing but great experiences when I needed to call them.

Did they destroy your old gun and put your original serial number on the new one?

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I have no idea what S&W did with the old gun, and it really didn’t matter to me. I was told I would be receiving the next pistol off the line of the model I requested. Showed up in about three weeks . . .

The reason for my question regarding serial numbers is that in states where you need a permit you are required to report a change if that serial number is destroyed but no change if it goes on the new gun.

I recently built up a 4” PC slide for my 1.0 9mm Shield, and S&W CS was terrific for ordering parts.
Their pricing was really good, too.

My Shield Plus arrived to their facility on the 18th I received and RMA number on the 23rd and have not heard a word since, today is the 30th.
I was asked to send it in after not being able to zero any of 3 different optics tried on it. They all would run out of elevation adjustment. One was a Holosun EPS Carry with the Holosun K to RMSc adapter plate, which is what I intended to run. The second was Sig Romeo Zero, the last was an Shield RMSc. Both borrowed to try them out. Someone suggested I measure the slide and cut and I found that the front of the optics cut measured 0.0150" (.38mm)(1/64") deeper in the front than in the rear. I called S&W to see if this was intended and they just asked me to send the pistol in for inspection.
