I get my gun, clean, oil, take to range. Shoot 150 rounds of american eagle 95g fmj. No problems. I get home, disassemble, then go to reassemble; putting slide back on. While putting the slide back on, this falls off. Nothing was forceful or felt "off." I don't understand. The gun is broken now :/

I traded my LCP Max for this, buyer beware.

I sent an email to s&w's warranty service. Wish me luck.

It looks like the extractor, as maybe a pin backed out. I also traded in my LCP Max for my BG2.0, but mine's running perfectly.

Brain fart, I meant ejector.

I think it's the ejector.

I had no problems with mine too. I only had one failure to feed, had to hit the slide forward, guess I didn't hit it hard enough or the bullet didn't seat properly, it had a light strike. Normal malfunction thing, new pistol, I get it. 0 malfunctions otherwise.

I found it shoots to the left for me. I'm a right handed shooter. The left handed shooter, it was shooting to the right for him. I wish the rear sight notch wasn't as big.

My guess is whatever the thing was was just hanging on and once I removed the slide and tapped it when putting the slide back on it fell right off. I'm assuming I did the right thing contacting warranty services. I hope it didn't permanently damage anything on the firearm.

Ejector. My guess is the pin backed out since the piece appears intact. Did you search for the pin in the area you field stripped it? That part needs to be fully pressed down during disassembly to remove the slide, (alternatively, pulling the trigger works also). It MUST be fully down when reassembling. If it's not the slide will not go back on and forcing it or accidentally hitting it too hard could damage it.

I had a post a while back about the 2.0 being hard to disassemble. Following the instructions in the owners manual to push the ejector down.

Mine would not move with moderate force. When I pushed hard with a pen it jumped past the detent . It was a bear to get back into place.

Later found out about the trigger pulling method. So much easier.

Just bringing this up. Is it possible if using the ejector method to dissemble pushing it past the detent could cause it or the pin to fall out ?

I can't really tell from the pic, but it does look like the ejector, which is an easy fix if the pin didn't get lost.
The (relatively) good news is, if that IS the ejector, that the pistol is useable without an ejector.
I've known quite a few people (with various brands) stating the only thing they didn't like about their (fill-in-the-blank) pistols was that they didn't eject to the right like their other pistols. Those people had lost/broken their ejectors.

The ejector simply ensures that the spent case gets pushed out to the right (as opposed to getting pushed straight up by the next round feeding up?).

if the OP could post a picture of the frame to see if the retaining pin is still in place it may helpful

I think it's the ejector.

There is a sure-fire way to determine whether the piece is the ejector.
  1. Lock the slide back.
  2. Look down into the slide opening.
  3. If you don't see the part shown in the photo below, the piece is the ejector.

I'm not sure what the itty bitty loose part is, but it ISN'T THE EXTRACTOR! If you look at the ejection port side of the slide, muzzle to your right, the long narrow separate piece in the lower left hand corner of the ejection port is the extractor.

I used the trigger method and had no problems. It just came right off.

It is the ejector. I believe I see what is the pin in there but it is very very loose and wiggly. I have no experience with this either so I guess sending it in is my best bet.

That is a relief knowing it's something simple and most likely didn't mess anything up on the pistol. I really wanted to love this pistol. I hope maybe they replace the ejector and pin. Thoroughly inspect the pistol too, make sure nothing else is about to fall off.

I don't know why people are fussing with the take-down with this and the Shield Plus models. All you have to do is A) lock slide back on empty mag B) Eject empty mag C) pivot take down lever to "down" position D) pull trigger (in safe direction) E) run slide forward slowly. Comes right off no problems.

That’s my normal op with all strikers, however, S&W went out of their way to confuse users how to breakdown which isn’t normal imo.

Correct, definitely the ejector. I need more coffee in the morning before replying to posts. :D
