What 20 rounds magazines to use?
what 20 magazines will work in the new M&P10 ? I know the Pmag will, but are there any metal ones that will. I'm new to the AR type 308, got plenty of M1A's.
Thanks for any help.

DPMS ones that say 20 but hold only 19 work supposedly, and they are in stock at midwayusa right now for like $28 i think.

The downside is you may have to modify them, I had to modify mine to feed well. PMAGs run much better, but cost more.

Not my image, but this is what I had to do in order to get mine to feed.
They work pretty well now. Have one thats still finicky, tho. Might have to mess with it a little more.

If you guys have any 10 round mags you want to get rid of, let me know. I'm unfortunately settled down in CA for the time being.
Our CA model only came with ONE 10round mag, and they are sold out everywhere it seems.
To the OP, I'd rock the 20rd Pmag if I had the option.

I contacted MAGPUL about their 7X62 10 round magazines and was told to check back midyear. Guessing July or August time frame to grab some. (Also from California, and the M&P10 I got had the 20 round mag, so I have a great rifle without any magazines.) If you call MAGPUL enjoy being put on hold for 45 mins, the songs that are played include Magnum P.I., the A-Team, and Ponderosa (Over and over and over again...) Nobody ever said that they don't have a sense of humor.

Yes, use the SR25 / M110 patterned magazines. The Magpul .308 magazines ARE compatible (but made of unobtanium -as we all know).
The Armalite AR10 -and- the M14 profile magazines DO NOT function in our S&Ws.

Please post results/review... I picked up a couple too knowing that Pro Mags can be hit or miss.

If they still have any, I bought some Brownells 20 rd metal mags ( Mag-Tech 100-004-962 ) last week for just under $30.00 ea. .
They seem quality -stainless followers- parkerized? steel bodies.
I've yet to test them, -later this week probably- .

Here is the description from the website: The 7.62x51 NATO (.308 Winchester) PMAG 20LR is a lightweight, cost effective, high reliability magazine for SR25/M110 pattern rifles featuring true 20-round capacity, constant-curve body, and snap on Impact/Dust Cover. Designed specifically for military-issue MK11/M110 rifles and mil-spec ammunition (including M118LR), the PMAG 20LR is less than half the weight of standard issue steel magazines and maintains a service life round count approximately equal to the rifle barrel itself.
