Accu-Wedge?
Has anyone installed an accu-wedge in their M&P15's and what is your thoughts on it. Please?

If there is slop between upper and lower receivers, the Accu Wedge can help eliminate it. Better is the tensioning takedown pin made by JP Enterprises. Neither does a thing for accuracy, really, but they do take out the annoying slack some ARs have between upper and lower, and this can make the AR easier to shoot accurately.

I can tell you that it does not work on the M&P-15, here's why, I used to have 2 Colt HBAR rifles and the lowers had a small recess that the accu wedge fit into. The S&W does not have that recess and you can't get the wedge to fit between the upper and lower action without the recess. I have 2 S&W AR-15s and the wedge fits neither! Have a great day and I hope this helps.

You shouldn't need an accu-wedge on a S&W rifle as long as you're using the original upper/lower together. They don't generally have any slop in them (I have a M&P15 and it's a tight fit).
However, I built my own AR with a Spikes lower and a YHM upper, and there was some slop in the fit, so I use an accu-wedge in that rifle to great effect.
Psigah mentioned that it doesn't do anything for accuracy, but I disagree. If the accu-wedge resolves a sloppy fit, that means you can achieve a more consistent cheek weld on the stock, and the barrel is always in the same position relative to the butt stock, and accuracy should improve.

My M&P-15 has a little slop, but who cares? The barrel is connected to the upper receiver, where the rear sight is. Slop causes no accuracy issues...

To clarify -- it does nothing for mechanical accuracy. But as stated, it can make it easier to shoot accurately.

It's not worth the bother.A little play is normal and doesn't really affect anything.

Sport with Accu-Wedge
I have a Accu-Wedge in my Sport. Had to cut it down to fit as the instructions say. It's made out of rubber, not plastic like some, made it very hard to cut. Got it from OpticsPlanet. My C.A. Sport had play between the upper/lower receivers. Not much but enough to bother me, but not any more. Had it for more than 3 months now. Cost's less than ten bullets, and it makes the gun feel more solid when shooting. I think its worth it.
Tip: Cut less than you think as it will compact slightly after a couple outings.
There is a rear tension pin that also takes out the slack, and although I think the pin is the better solution, the one's I've seen cost 30 bucks or more.

I had one in my old Bushy, about all it really did was make it a p.i.t.a. to open and close the upper from the lower. I wouldn't waste even $2 on one for my M&P-15. Like other have said before. It really does nothing for accuracy, the sights, barrel, and such are all part of the upper reciever.

I trimmed one to fit in my M&P15-OR and it wored just fine. I personally didn't like bringing the rifle up to my shoulder and feeling the thing flex. It wasn't bad, just annoying. Now it isn't.

That's what I'm saying it had flex, now it doesn't. It's a preference thing, makes the gun feel more solid. And mine is not a P.I.T.A. to open at all, still no tools needed.

I bought an accuwedge because I had a little play and I wanted it really tight. Well it didn't fit so I ended up cutting most of the bottom off with a razor and it fit perfect and my upper and lower have no wiggle at all.
